In the meantime, show me an Eels supporter who enters Round 1 confident and I'll show you an Eels supporter with a supply of some seriously good stuff.
They have lost Fafita and TPJ to other clubs and Haas is suspended.
That is pretty much all of their forward fire-power gone.
We should beat them very comfortably and this definitely shouldn't be used as a yardstick for how we will go this season.
Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Raiders and Rabbitohs are the teams we should be measuring ourselves against and not the current wooden spooners.
Actually they still have TPJ, they list Ofhengaue in addition to Fafita
The broncos are a rabble, a messy roster, off field issues and a coach that has been less than impressive in his coaching career so far. I expect a bit of fight early from the broncos but the eels should be far too strong and win comfortably.
Up there,Brisbane got a new coach and a lot to prove,but if we are fair dinkum we need to win these games comfortably.
I'd be disappointed if the Broncos get within 20 of us. They still don't have a reliable spine, an inexperienced forward pack, Payne Haas will be suspended, they've lost Fifita, they're trying Corey Oates in the back row again, and their outside backs, whilst talented, are very green.
Tough game to start the year.
Broncos should be fired up.
Probably a good measuring stick to see where we are at.
