HEROES FOR HIRE ROCK!!!!!!!!!! I've seen a few of those boys walking around Blacktown shops. Two of them went to my school, even have a song about it "Doonside High School Football Rules". I love them, saw them play as the local band in '09 and now they're on the bill, can't wait to see them play
BDO is unfortunately going to go the way of Homebake.
Ham I went to the 1991 BDO with Nirvana, and they were f&*king awesome.
Tinks I heard a rumour that the tickets for BDO this year were going to be in the vicinity of $150-$165. Not sure how true it is because ticketmaster isnt releasing prices until the 14th October.
Marilyn Manson was much better before, when he was allowed to do whatever he wanted but he still puts on a great show, but I just can't see him doing this event, he'll more than likely pull out about a month before. I could have sworn that I saw the promoter say that he would never book Limp Bizkit as it's too risky seeing what happened at BDO.
I still think SW's ticket pricing is way too high, $165 for a ticket, yes you get to see great bands but that's way too expensive
I'm really not that into hard rock - but seriously, if a gun was held to my head and I had to attend either Sound Wave or BDO, at least I've never seen Marilyn Manson or Limp Bizkit before.
I am SO sick of BDO bringing out the SAME acts and promoting the SAME Aussie bands. I've seen the Hilltop Hoods at least 5 times now.
They need to make it fresh and different - otherwise don't expect people to pay the $130 a ticket!
Yeah but they'll never beat their first line-up, The Violent Femmes headlining with Nirvana. I wasn't born then but it would have been amazing to see. But BDO has turned into nothing more than a festival where juiced-up tank guys can shoot-up and girls can walk around in their shortest shorts and they all dance to techno music, it's why Defqon was started.
I think that's the only thing they could attract. No big Metal bands would want to go there as they know have Soundwave where they'll have thousands more fans, more bands that are like them and they'll get to follow in the footsteps of Maiden.
Another thing, I don't know why Coal Chamber aren't a Headliner or somewhere near the Headliners as they are forming back for Soundwave. Other than that, I'll be cuing up the morning the tickets go on sale
