Parramatta have formally announced the signing of former South Sydney hooker Matt McIlwrick on a one year deal.
The rake has played 56 first grade games at clubs including the Roosters, Sharks, Tigers and Rabbitohs.
In the official announcement, Parramatta stated that Reed Mahoney would "continue to be starting hooker" and that McIlwrick would "add depth to that role and complete our top 30 squad".

I hope he doesn’t get thrown into first grade and upset young Mahoney.
Mahoney says he can play 80 so let him, do we really need another journeyman wasting space in a top grade bench spot. I for one don’t think so.
Depth signing. Keep in mind injuries occur in rugby league. The replacement (K. Pritchard) is injured and the "capable" of playing hooker utility (W. Smith) also happens to be injured. Smart signing. Nothing more, nothing less.
Nar definitely totally agree with you mate.
Very good to hear its a 1 year deal, dont want to be locking in guys like this for any longer.
Good to make guys like this earn a further stay than one year if they offer enough.
Welcome to the club Matt.
Play well, i dont want to have to call you Mcildope too early.
Loved him at Tigers.
So that's it, that's our 30 all tied up?
Nigel > Unless he's on a Wenty contract??? If so,then we might have room for Rhys Martin? But if he does round off our top 30 and we're still interested in Martin, then I hope we don't offload French in order to do that. I disagree with peoples comments saying Bevan is JUST A FINISHER. He's got quite a useful bag of tricks in his attacking arsenal. He just needs a shot @Fullback injury-free, or even in the halves.
Ok thanks, but Wenty contract would exclude him from playing for us? We'd need to upgrade him to play first grade?
I agree it's worthwhile sticking with French, 19 tries in 13 games in 2017 didn't happen by accident. He has gotten bigger, I'd persevere a bit longer.
He has Los a lot of pace and confidence since those days. He has been caught from behind at training that would never happened two years ago.
What are they doing at training?
