I hadn't read through the entire thread when I posted last night Kram, but having looked at it more closely today (even though I said I wouldn't) - you're right - I haven't heard anybody try to justify or find excuses for policing in the US or this event specifically.
Which is very pleasing because I would have been particularly angry and disappointed with anyone who did.
I know there's quite a few folk on here who could comfortably be described as neo-cons and who take a particular view that often collides with mine, but, in this case, I couldn't bear to read the whole thread in the event that someone tried to justify this incident. I just had to say my piece.
At least in this case, I'm pleased that everyone seems to be of a similar mind.
Cheers mate.
Just for clarity, my business is employed exclusively by a US company, I own property in Ohio, have employees working full time in the US and have crossed the Pacific well over 100 times so, while I'm certainly not qualified to speak with the same authority of Mrs. Bourbon Man (just quietly your wife sounds awesome), I know where you're coming from.
I just don't like seeing all folk tarred with the same brush, black or white, good or bad. There are tens of millions of great americans (of all race and creed) who felt the pain and injustice of what transpired and are abhorred. But violence doesn't solve violence. Cheers brother :)
Thanks for your kind words Kram. I appreciate it :-)
I don't condone any violence no matter the circumstance. What's happening in the US in the name of protesting is a joke...
But......, let's defend the rioters and looters and the outright mindless violence we are seeing because some police officers in the US have crossed the line? This line isn't exclusively crossed against the black population, it happens to whites and the latinos too.
Some people are protesting for their rights, I can appreciate this - the majority are taking the piss.
I can't find post but I think it was Magpie who said we all are influenced by input. For myself I firmly disagree I became vegetarian at 7 year old to meat eating parents. Meet another vegetarian wheen I 15 then another only at 45. Took myself of the Mass at 15 and haven't stopped. I thought vaccines were iffy at best, tested on animals which is morally wrong, aborted baby stem cells are one ingredient plus all the poison. So I say no thank you. I do like it when I hear of someone sharing my beliefs. I have never been influenced by anyone. I am neither right or left and voted once in my life. We are over governed and controlled by underlying forces. God just listening to Donald Trump talking now what a phoney. Too little too late and not addressing the 2 issues creating the anarchy.
You've never been influenced by anyone?
Not a father or brother or Friend or teacher or minister or mentor or coach?
You've just decided to how to dress, have your haircut, what sport to follow, what team to follow, what music to listento, what profession to take up all by yourself, with no input or influence by anything else?
How do you know about the things they put in vaccines if you haven't read any literature on it? Magically pop into your head?
Your either incredibly unselfaware or the vaccines made you autistic :)
Okay, so now it's one of our own.

Lost for words now.
Psychopaths with tough toy tin badges and Trump is now sending in the military to "control" the situation?
Who is controlling the controllers?
[Edit] gives us some insight to your circumstances Bourbs.
How do you mean?
You are angry and sad - at odds with your wife (who from your comments is hurting you badly and a place you do not want to be) and we see exactly how this is unfolding with Police no longer caring who they hit as long as they are hitting someone.
Not a place I would like to be.
Maybe I am not explaining myself well enough.
Empathy?
