Hope you're doin' OK Tad :)

I noticed a couple of days ago that Tad hadn't been around - and today I noticed that his old posts aren't on the site and thus he is no longer a member.

Tad was a kind sole and a regular poster on here - he had a passion for social issues and was always keen to participate in discussions on any social/current affair type issues. I didn't always agree with his views but Tad was a gentle fella who was never deliberately abusive, aggressive or robust in his language and - even if he upset someone - there was never any intended malice or aggression in his posts.

Tad, if you read this mate, I would like you to know that there are plenty here who believe the site is poorer for your departure.

I hope you're doing well mate and I hope to see you back on here sooner rather than later.

Cheers brother :)

        • Who upset Tad? , out the fool.

          • I can't mate - out of respect for Tad - I'm sure he wouldn't want me to. The thing is if the bloke had of unloaded on me (or you or plenty of others) like he did on Tad I would have torn him a new one - but Tad is the sort of big hearted fella that probably thinks he may have actually done something to deserve the diatribe he copped (he didn't).

I mean who the f*ck would unload on Tad? It would be like giving it with both barrels to Sluggy - it's not acceptable. I think Tad posted in reply; "I'm sorry (member name), I don't know what to say to that" and that was it.

Really hope he makes it back here and shares in what looks to be a great season with the rest of us :)

            • It truly saddens me that someone like Tad feels like he can't continue on this site, actually I t pisses me off that someone had driven one of the site legends away. There isn't too many , if any, members on this site that have been here longer than me, since 08, I have seen and heard everything and everyone one on this site and I can state without a doubt  Tad is  a site legend. I don't agree with a lot of his views but damn if he doesn't make you question your own beliefs.  He needs to come back ,  end of story, make it happen.

            • thats really sad to hear kram

            • Kman i think it would be a sin if you don't let everyone know who caused Tad to leave ?

              • I can't Fongy. I don't know - they may have privately apologised to Taddy and if they were man enough to do that all good - we all make errors of judgement. But if they didn't they're a c*nt.

I'll leave it at that - they know who they are and I don't really know if anything transpired between Tad and this person after they left.

Think I'll go and listen to Mick and the boys doing "Living In A ghost Town". How good is that?

        • Thanks, Krams. You're a top guy. I told him a lot of people miss him on here, that there was even a blog on him, and he was a bit surprised: "really?," he added. But, he's really happy and has a lot more time with family and loved ones, now...so that's a win.

          • That's true HoE - as long as he's not carrying any baggage that he doesn't deserve..

"Look i think it is more than just being put on the Wing. I think Flanno is a reason. Wanting to play semi's is another.
I think a move away will be an awakening for Lomax. He was on with Fltech and Hindy with Lawrie in 2022 and he mimicked Griffin.…"

"600k is OK for the right winger. The Panthers sets are built on what their back 3 do on tackle one. The more momentum at the start of a set the more expansive a team can play but if our back three are getting smashed on tackle one and two it puts…"

"Which is why I asked what you consider expensive? Would you say 500k? 600k?
If these players at up to 600k are classy & not expensive, it's a pretty small window reliant on what's available?
Which brings us back to the development angle, and that…"

"For sure, as mentioned, 800k & there's no way the Eels will look at him. 600-650k, is possibly a different story. As you mentioned with salary cap, those centres might've been 600k but that was decent coin also.
100% agree though that it all depends…"

"I didn't say classy, I said expensive
2020 I don't believe Chambers was at the Storm, Olam was on his first cheap contract out of the Qcup and Brenko Lee was also cheap
Latrell and Manu weren't on huge money, not back then. They were still on…"

"I think we need to find a winger not a centre. I just don't see how signing Lomax helps with our long term planning of the club. If Talagi does well at 5/8 we will want him to play centre when Moses is back or at a minimum play him at 14. However by…"

"More so it is a cautionary tale of purchasing players Melbourne do not want. I still think though Bellamy would not give up NAS for Lomax when he is that desperate for middles. He will lean on NAS experience towards finals."

"I can see what Al is saying. Not so much last time a team won with a great Centre, but a Centre on $800k. None of those Centres listed were on more than $600k i would imagine. But also the cap has risen massively over the past 5 years, meaning the…"
