It doesn't look like it's going to be a long term rebuild, if Moses can at least stay on the field for 20 games next year they should be a decent shot of pushing for a top 8 spot. On the other side of the coin would the eels be better off using their 1.3 million on players who don't miss 3/4s of the season ? Maybe it could be mutually beneficial if he's moved on similar to the knights and ponga
I don't think (speculation) that 'a decent shot of pushing for the 8' is enough for Moses in his final seasons.
When I say rebuild, I mean rebuild to being a genuine contender, not rebuilding off the bottom of the ladder.
No premiers in the past 20 seasons will have a spine with less experience than the Eels over the next 2/3 years. History can be re-written, but, its very unlikely.
Moses wants a Premiership, he's said as much, and he looks the best halfback option to bring us one in decades.
He's also made comments around our recruitment of 5/8th, he clearly knows what he needs more than any of us do, and the club have failed in providing that = Moses isn't happy, and if he was, as you mentioned because he's paid a lot, then he wouldn't be the right captain for us?

To be fair, the last two seasons we had a first choice spine that contained Moses, Brown and Gutherson, and look where that got us. If Moses is unhappy now, why wasn't he unhappy and the end of the past two seasons?

Other then playing for the Storm or Panthers who is actually in a certain spot to push for a title every year ? I think if Moses can keep himself on the field the club can push for finals in the next few years. Ryles is building something around Moses but it's up to him to keep himself on the park and lead the club to that spot. I do understand he'd want a solid 6 next to him and maybe that is part of his frustration.
He is now in his final contract, he is 32, we've lost our 5/8th and have not replaced him, and we are now developing (albeit great) hookers & a fullback, 2nd rowers etc.
All great, we are all buying in, but we know Ryles is building for a future contender, its not coming in the next 1-2 years, is that realisation dawning on Moses?
Maybe not, maybe he's just got a pain in the arse toddler & isn’t sleeping, we've been there, its all speculation.
Both Ryles & Moses have made comments that do seem to have underlying frustration around retention or recruitment, especially at 5/8th, and if Analyst is saying he's heard Moses isn't overly happy, it doesn't surprise greatly?

I think he just wants to win now, frustrated with his injury run the last 3 years as well probably. Winning will cure all
Exactly Eli, who is a guaranteed title runner/ winner that's short on a 1.3M half?
maybe Mitch and his cousin fell for Galvin coming to us line and thought his eggs were sorted for a Dylan replacement...I'd say we wasted a lot of time counting on that chicken hatching with us. That would've helped put him in unhappy times too.
Who else was a great prospect as 6 that we've missed out on that Mitch would've liked us to snare?
lets face it there's so much talk of massive money out there very soon that it's not an ideal time actually ...or it is a great time for huge name halves tho thst would be keen on landmark contracts to jump on their bus' tho🙄

I'm pretty shore Mace you were first to throw Doueihi's name around for 5/8 , I wholeheartedly agreed with you at the time.
A big body 5/8 with experience, a big kicking game , aggressive with strong defence who can play multiple positions.
The Tigers low balled him at $350 grand, the Eels could have got him months ago for probably $100grand more a bargain in retrospect.
Now his price is going up on the daily and the club is holding their proverbial in their hands.
We need experience in the spine, Doueihi would have been a seamless fit, already has a relationship with Mitch and we're no where to be seen.
Before anyone carry's on how many injuries he's had I'd suggest you look at any half in the comp over 22 and outside DCE they're all injured quite a lot .

"Let him go. He's never going to have the same pace and isn't quick enough for wing. We'll gain a roster position and cap space. Hes nothing special, just a toiler"

He probably was, MeelK?
