He is for now, but come this time next year and we are 5-6 wins, i think he would be in a fair bit of trouble. If we miss the 8 completely next year i do think he is gone. Not saying he should be or anything, just saying that's usually how it all works in the game. It would be an entire clean out of everything.

Listening to abc footy in between games the jurno was talking about player moments. Said Parramatta are going for Rome because Lorenzo and Fletcher won't be ready till 2028. Luke Lewis added this is destabilising and he would put more time into vw. Instead of starting the process all over again 2028. Spencer to be the spearhead middle. So in 2027 they will be our back up halves.
I guess it's easy to say we should sit and wait when you're not invested in anyway. How long do we keep writing seasons off as a rebuilding season though ? Next years another year without a doubt struggling if we go into it as we currently stand.

If Ryles can't show we have improved by round 6 next year , I'd be going all in on Bennett or Cleary . Both are off contract in 2028 ? Infact id be sounding them out now if I'm being totally honest. We need to get a bit fucking ruthless in this department , I'm not saying I'd be sending them offers , but I'd most definitely be letting both know not to be agreeing to anything as their next move without chatting with us first.
We need someone like Spencer no forward at our club takes on the defence and hopefully if we sign him our other forwards at the club will learn off him...
IAgree! He has an opportunity to be the leader his 25 now or so. This would be attractive to him. I would think. Isn't nunn similar to Spencer ?

Metcalf, good player but we already have one injurty prone 7 we don't need another.
Leota/Barnett tieing up big money in middles at the end of their careers is not great, so again. I like both players but Im glad we didn't go there.
Spencer is what we need. A dominant middle to take over from Junior whose best years are ahead of him.
For rd 1 next year I'd love to see Spencer with a couple of other topical potentials.

With those 3 potential signings and injured players returning our squad actually looks a lot stronger than it has in years.
Might be hard to get Burton here for next year (or any year) but it seems like it is within the realms of possibility.
