Signing predictions !

If you can only name one player who you think will be most likely coming to Parramatta for 2027, who will it be ?

Whether you truly have inside info or just an educated guess, it doesn't matter. The whole excersize of this blog is to create some positivity, as I really think there'll be at least two decent signing for 27.

Now please don't turn this blog into a negative R & R discussion, as we should have the cash to make these signings happen. We should have upwards of 1.5 -  2 million dollars to spend you'd have to think.

Just name 1 or maximum 2 potential signings

Players off contract

Paulo  950k

Matterson 650k

Walker 400k

Russell 350k

Pezet 400k

Debelin 250k

W Penasini  500k ???

Signings

Jaydn Su'a. 650k

    • Well he has said he is happy at Canterbury. He can simple say it as a professional, let's not get media on us 24/7 about it. Come September, Burton will be given permission to

If Burton does stay for less and to play Centre, then what about that he did do it. But i doubt both they would want him for Centre and pay him big money. Dogs could treat him like Mahoney (Supposedly) where he was actually on too much money and want money to sign elsewhere.

Final note, Crichton is also on close to a mil. Do Dogs want two Centres near a mill? So yeah Burton might want to re-sign, but to Dogs want to.

    • Yea will probably resign for 3yrs on overs and then be asked to find another club after 2yrs. That's the Gus way.

  • Well, according to our resident expert, no one.

  • MATT BURTON. 100% confident on this one, I reckon most of our signings will for 28 due to so many players coming off in 27.

    • but you're not 101% confident?

      • 110% confident is the minimum

  • Nice and fair blog Chief.

Either way i feel there will be signings, more so due to who is off-contract. We only have 22 signed up for 2027, at least 6 spots need to be filled by Round 1 next year. Russell, Matto and Pezet we know are definately gone. I also reckon Walker, de Belin, Volkman and Penisini brothers are gone too. I know i said Will said he extended, he did, but it's odd nothing since at all. Plus you can tell the club love Samrani.

I feel a Winger definately, Tom Jenkins being it. Even though Penrith are set to lose To'o i feel they will be out priced for Jenkins. They will see him as a certain value and they wont budge.

Secondly i feel we will get a decent middle. More so one that pops up out of nowhere. I used an example a few weeks ago of Jackson Ford who knows could want to come back to Sydney and take a big money offer. Things like that happen a lot. Just got to know where to look. Managers and clubs talk before November 1, they know how to do it.

I feel we will get a Centre, one of the three names (Tago, Timoko and Xerri). For some reason i feel we get Tago. I know Penrith might say get stuffed if we sign Jenkins and go for Tago too, but with Jake at the club (You can sign him to a NSW Cup deal, i doubt he would get a contract anywhere else) he could come here and Penrith also would want a big portion of his salary off the cap to try and keep Cleary or Yeo or Martin.

Finally, yeah i reckon we get Burton. For some reason i feel it is one that seems realistic and fits for what we want in our situation. Now what we need and want can be different of course.

Now i could see it being Burton, Jenkins, Tago and a middle. Not a bad haul and i feel we have the cap space to tightly squeeze it in. As to why we might be open to letting Walker walk for example. I can also see maybe 1-2 players already on a top 30 deal moving on.

Also get a few depth players. Back-up Halfback priority.

    • I hope Mataele goes aswell. Ive watched a few replays and he tires very quickly. Pryke aswell.  We have better players like Brown

      • I do not mind either Pryke or Mataele staying for a year as depth. Both? nah. I think Pryke more likely, as he more likely is content with a dev deal. Mataele i do not see getting an extension. Had a nice game v NQ and played decent for us but also Pryke been getting more minutes off Ryles. But if Ryles wants that tackling machine, Edwards now offers that but better.

Let's be fair though, i had we started the year better and not as many injuries, Brown gets a debut before Mataele or Pryke and neither of them get game time. Many here were on same page that it was extremely likely Mataele would be a 1 game wonder and Pryke wouldnt see FG.

But i would keep one for some depth. But yeah Brown and Talagi too for 2027 will start to get a look in.

  • A middle and an outside back.

Jackson Ford or Fotuaika for the middle. Middle of the road, late 20s, and could be tempted. Fotuaika form has not been outstanding but maybe that's why a new lease of life would help.

Outside back, left centre specifically. Izack Tago is the obvious one, but Jake Averillo too is available.

    Otherwise, depends on who leaves.
