I'm sure not everyone will agree but in my personal opinion Set Restarts in particular are destroying the game and allowing the referee to basically control the outcome of games. Combine the Set Restarts with diabolical refereeing and bunker calls then the whole fairness of Rugby League has long gone. Seriously today's game was disgraceful refereeing ( yes the Eels made some poor mistakes and the younger players are still learning) but a 10-1 penalty count and not 1 repeat set 🤣. This seems to be a continual report on 85% of refereeing of the Eels games. In my opinion the Eels hierarchy need to speak up about the appalling referee and bunker calls. It's not only the Eels coping it but it seems the lower placed teams get the raw end of the stick. Ricky Stuart isn't afraid of speaking up when things go against his team with refs. About time the Eels did the same or they'll continue to be the NRL doormat team

I don't know if consistent errors or perceived referree bias are reviewed. Players if they don't perform are constantly considerd to earn their place.Does the same apply to referees?
The 6 agains were purely introduced to allow the NRL to have a bigger say in results , as Parramatta fans we have nothing to bitch about when you look at all the years we were in the top tier when it came to receiving 6 agains .
You would think Clubs who have legitimate issues have power to change or improve obvious stresses in the game?

The key here is we've dropped our arses so quickly we are now at the mercy of them even though I think what ills our side can be controlled but we seemingly continue doing the samething.

22 they were introduced right smack bang in the last iteration of the teams prime.
The biggest issue with anything the zebras do is consistency and a fair share for bad teams.The issue with being a bad side they handicap themselves and it magnifies the mentioned.Bad teams need things to go there way to help them with results I don't think that has changed with sides down the bottom consistently.Onething that can help us is if we don't continually put ourselves at the mercy of these calls I think that's a bigger issue moving foward.
The set restarts are rediculous.
Penrith have won 4 comps playing tunnel ball getting six agains and dominating possession.
This not playing the ball with your foot has become a farce.

When the six agains were bought in I thought it was a good idea because teams were willing to give multiple penalties away defending their try line to slow it down and set their line. It's now crazy how much the refs influence the game with it and it's becoming like union where the spectator has no clue what rulings are for.
Before it was brought in, if the refs had the balls and used the sin bin for mulitiple offenses then that may have been a way to stop the trend of deliberate penalties. It would of been argued that ten in the bin was too harsh, perhaps a case could be made for five minute sin bins, refs would be more willing to use it then.
The refs seem to give a six again where they would not normally blow a penalty, it's almost like they are thinking 'I want this side to get a good go now".
To stop this maybe the ref could signal a penalty and at the next play of the ball the team/captain would decide if they want a six again or a full penalty. It would put more responsibility on the ref to not award nothing six agains. It would allow a team to play on with momentum but also take points or territory if they choose to.
It's another rule change I know but the six again the way the officials are implementing it is terrible.
If the problem is a really significant issue or any issue with perceived regular bias is there anything that clubs can do to address perceived corruption or anti competitive behaviour. Eg some clubs have major benefits with salary cap issues.Often complained about but no avenues to address these issues inequalities. Is there a case to have an independent umpire eg a retired judge to review any evidence based complaints . Much the same as official watchdogs in governance where their are entrenched issues which warrants investigation.?
