I'm sure not everyone will agree but in my personal opinion Set Restarts in particular are destroying the game and allowing the referee to basically control the outcome of games. Combine the Set Restarts with diabolical refereeing and bunker calls then the whole fairness of Rugby League has long gone. Seriously today's game was disgraceful refereeing ( yes the Eels made some poor mistakes and the younger players are still learning) but a 10-1 penalty count and not 1 repeat set 🤣. This seems to be a continual report on 85% of refereeing of the Eels games. In my opinion the Eels hierarchy need to speak up about the appalling referee and bunker calls. It's not only the Eels coping it but it seems the lower placed teams get the raw end of the stick. Ricky Stuart isn't afraid of speaking up when things go against his team with refs. About time the Eels did the same or they'll continue to be the NRL doormat team

Also Seraph I know you said you won't go into it more but please answer me this. Did they relate it to the board/CEO and/or HOF? Or Ryles and/or the staff?
From what Ive heard, youre spot in with Ryles. Clear and consistent. Other parts of the business maybe not so much. Whether it falls under the 'too hard' or 'in over their heads' baskets, I dont know. Not heard any specifics on coaching staff
Ok well at least it ain't the football department in terms of coaching. That is a big positive,
Ive said before, I think JR can do a good job, I just doubt the orgs ability to support him in getting it done
Maybe he's more used to Rugby Union more than League. There could be many reasons he's leaving if he actually is..I'm sure Ryles will have someone better lined up
Well now his role I am not familiar with and how much they do with players. Though I am curious to know if he mishandled Moses in pre-season this year? Moses' foot was a reaggrevation of his broken toe from the screw due to heavy load.
Now I am happy to say I could be way off as that role is out of my field of knowledge to be fair.

eels need to get vocal and ask for meetings with referee bosses showing our concerns around decisions
It's just a way for the nrl to control who they want to give an upper hand to. All very vague calls with no explanation. Roll ball is the same.
Set restarts are a terrible rule, but they were a response to the refs never binning players for smothering the ruck inside their own 20 knowing the value in a set line.
Then in true NRL style a team figured out how to abuse it, the Panthers, and they just kept teams nailed down their own end by getting as many repeat sets as possible.
So the NRL introduced the next stupid rule and incentivised short kickoffs to try and negate the Panthers, and it's kinda worked.
It's such an NRL thing to do - to keep changing the rules to try and solve a problem and then creating another problem.
Absolutely. No sport to my knowledge comes close to the NRL in constantly changing.
