I'm sure not everyone will agree but in my personal opinion Set Restarts in particular are destroying the game and allowing the referee to basically control the outcome of games. Combine the Set Restarts with diabolical refereeing and bunker calls then the whole fairness of Rugby League has long gone. Seriously today's game was disgraceful refereeing ( yes the Eels made some poor mistakes and the younger players are still learning) but a 10-1 penalty count and not 1 repeat set 🤣. This seems to be a continual report on 85% of refereeing of the Eels games. In my opinion the Eels hierarchy need to speak up about the appalling referee and bunker calls. It's not only the Eels coping it but it seems the lower placed teams get the raw end of the stick. Ricky Stuart isn't afraid of speaking up when things go against his team with refs. About time the Eels did the same or they'll continue to be the NRL doormat team

Really chief?
What was the excuse for 22 & 23 seasons?
Bad arthur
So Chiefy, just so im understanding:
BA is responsible for the 22-24 drop offs, new performance coach comes in with a clean slate and arguably makes a difference, but the problem persists, the new performance coach decides to leave in under a year and its him that has caused the 50min drop off?
I can't see how a performance coach who has a rugby background, can have the knowledge to work with sg ball players let alone nrl players. He was probably a fill in until we found a better choice.
Right now, the club is missing 1.8 million dollars worth of forwards with Ofehengaue, Lane, Cartwright and Matterson all non starters and being contacted to the club for 2025.
I believe we're getting beaten through the forwards, and trying to manufacture going around teams because of it.
Wouldnt that imply that the better choice is found and available before leaving?
so if the performance coach from a comparatively similar sport (as in rugby and league and closer than afl/soccer and league) isnt able to get players fit enough to play, why are players able to code swap?
The club would already have someone for 26, or be in talks
Some players who make the code switch need months to adapt to the game. There's been plenty from rugby who've made the swap and could never adapt.
Well if they do they are keeping it well under wraps and misdirecting/wasting peoples time by advertising for the position
Neither the performance coach or the players are causing the supposed 'drop off' The Eels have played reasonably well most of this year considering loss of players, beginning of a new era, younger players, injuries and suspensions. The Eels almost won a few games they lost, and have lost a few they should have won by diabolical refereeing and bunker calls and it's these diabolical calls that have highly contributed to the 'drop off' as it's hard enough competing against 13 let alone 15 as that's drains players confidence, momentum and enthusiasm. I would suggest the Mills is leaving not because of the supposed 'shambles' rubbish but because of personal reasons
Fair Cumberland. I dont know Mills' situation and you may be right. It may be personal reasons.
I only know what I have heard from people who have first hand knowledge. These are people that I trust and would have no reason to lie
When you say shambles, it is created by Ryles? Board? Both?
