Watching Ryles in the press conference he has given up for this year. Let's blood some young guys from flegg and cup. We should be dropping the guys that aren't staying next yr and getting the kids some game time in first grade. 2027-2028 should be the plan now

    • I don't see what others see in Nanva. Looks like another Samrani, a second rower body playing in the centres. They are athletic but don't move like elite centres. Not sure he is the future.

  • I think similarly but should be trying to snap up some of the unsigned young players out there looking for an opportunity.

Get them in now and give them a crack at the first grade jerseys straight away.

    • Ridiculous

  • Ryles has debuted almost everyone he can this season.

Twidle, Brown, Nanva, Pryke all debuted this season from our pathways. You don't really have anyone else you could debut.

    • Agreed - we have no one else banging on the door from reggies; it is more about making subtle changes to pack; Sam to start for example and Bira Moretti on bench; that is all I would do.

You cannot have Lorenzo playing with an inexperienced spine - unless Pezet was playing and then playing consistently well.

The funny thing is we had all those missed tackles / errors yesterday and could have won. That has to be one positive - we improve just there and we win. Completions also not good.

  • Must be June. We seem to be having this discussion around this time every year, and yet nothing changes.

  • I wouldn't give up now. Not saying we're gonna make finals but to put a run of wins together. I wouldn't mindlessly give debuts.

Funa-Iuta, Nanva, Talataina are the only other juniors I want near the NRL side. JFI and Lorenzo I wouldn't play yet, maybe in a couple of matches once Teancum is settled in NRL side, I'd bring Jezaiah for a run in place of Kelma or even De Belin.

Lorenzo I'd give a run maybe also once Moses is back and Kitione has had a bit of a run.

Even then, I'd play these 2 for a 3-5 games run and that's it. Unless they go mental. THen I'd bring Joash back in the 6.

As for Nanva, I'm curious about just giving him the left centre spot. For the rest of the season.

  • Against the raiders

  • I liked the brief look at Ryley S at halfback yesterday. I would trial him at 5/8 - I see some simarities with Cameron Munster. At least he can tackle, has some mongrel, can pass and will go after the game

  • I don't think Ryles has given up. I think it's more like he has no answers.
