Sean Russell

For all the positives around the development of individuals and the team this year .. if this bloke plays more than about 3 games for us next year it will be another long season .
Not a first grader , makes the same poor reads every week in defence , doesn't know he has a Ferrari outside him and can't even do his simple jobs well. He should be a stop gap player at best not a week to week regular.
He has no idea how to execute the basic parts of the game let alone take half chances . Very very average player .

      • Yep

      • still better then russell on his good day

    • Its makes sense considering they were our grand final centres and we have arguably better wingers than we did that game. Theoretically we should be much stronger than we were then but penisini has gone backwards and simonsson has had several injuries. So Ryles probably sticks with Russell. Not because he is any good but because he considers him the best option right now in what is a shit team he is trying to coach.

  • What about Temu Ben roberts?

    • What about Bunnings Mertons🤣

      • Bunnings DO NOT sell Bob's Merkins

  • Yeah agree he passes when he shouldn't and doesn't pass when he should

  • He's a depth player and always has been and that's ok this is what we have to expect when we aren't a development club and struggle to attract top tier talent.

Tell you what Lomax has got to be one of the slowest wingers in the comp.

  •  If you bring an average player like Russell into your team they have to nail the basics.

Hes no threat at all with the ball, he offers no strike .. cant hit a hole, cant contest in the air, cant pull through a tackle, has no footwaork, cant catch and pass, cant draw and pass, cant turn the ball inside ... so if hes there youd want him to make his tackles , make no mistakes and be great with his effort. This bloke has been asleep and offside on kick chase more than once this season.

Thats before we even statrt on him putting a kick 5 m dead on the full, touching short drop outs before theyve gone 10,  standing under bombs and letting them come down on his head. Can't rely on him and he shouldnt be in the 30 let alone 13.

    • Yet JRs picking him weekly and if he's like you say what does this tell you about the state of players in our system.I mean this is what it is.Don't worry though we've got an 800 k plus player sitting on the bench having a joke with kiwi mates on the other team tonight.

What's worse not only is he a good chance of being picked he'll get picked next to Joash  also I mean teams must be loving JRs selections.
