Monto, you'll find that a lot of teams do this. The majority of our Reserve Grade side are incredibly young. Some are still available to play Flegg like Hollis, Arthur and Russel. You need guys like Rankin, Lafai and Oldfield to guide them into first grade and hold them to an NRL standard.
When Rankin was in England he played Super League every week. He knows what being a professional is about and that's what he's passing on. He's also unique in that he debuted at 16, so he knows the pressure of being a teenage half in the NRL.
He's on bottom dollar with us. He came here without any expectations to play NRL. Does he think he can play NRL? Absolutely, otherwise he wouldn't have put himself through the whole bubble thing last year. But he's not expecting to play. I personally think if he was selected for us, he'd do the job.
Wow, Mack such kind words. I do assume Mack that your speaking from your own personal 'troll' experience. Where did you revert to when your own 'troll' cravings weren't met?
I know, I get sucked in, I hate myself for it.
Thanks for the information Super regarding Rankin. I sincerely wish Jake Arthur the best and I'm sure he's a great talent. I just feel a bit sorry for Rankin but now I understand his actual role and why he was signed it makes more sense.
wow
Well done Jakob hope you have a cracker
Rankin knows his role he isn't a 1st grader he here to compete at training and help develop young blokes.
Hes nearly 30 with plenty of NRL and Super League opportunities under his belt. Jr for 3 games has more long term upside
Exactly, thinking the very same thing. Bit shocked actually.
It's a calculated risk. Some of you guys have got seriously inflated opinions of Jordan Rankin.
And some have seriously deflated opinions of him. If he's that bad why was he offered a contract at the Eels? Out of pity or sympathy?
