Why do you think he won't? He obviously can't go to R360 now! Boxing or MMA is not him definitely! So the only other options would be Japanese Union ( can't see him lasting too long in that) or Super League or return to Parra which I think is his best option.
The fact he was looking at other options not even 6 months into a 4 year deal probably pissed Ryles off. He'd be happy he's out the door and can use the money on someone who wants to wear the jersey. Just my view on it
It's a tricky situation for ryles and the club, if lomax does want to come back to the NRL and not pursue other options do the eels,
1. Take him back, which would have an element of risk as he might look to get out again in the near future, he has history, done it twice already.
2. Allow him back in the NRL with another club with absolutely no benefit to the eels and having to play against him.
Or 3. Don't allow him back into the NRL and make him suffer the consequences of his actions. This would come across as being mean spirited and severely impact lomax financially which could make the eels a very unfavourable destination for other players.

Not a bad move here but if those who are choosing to go get a chance to up speed there development in the game and it opens the market right up right after a RWC.Players from all over the world looking for a payday.
Do you feel Coryn this could be a sidestep to let the World Cup happen then just scoop the pool full of Rugby players? Instead of getting, i am just spitballing a number for argument sakes, 20 Rugby players pre WC, they could get 150 post WC?
Is that the plan? Maybe too the extra time allows them to actually get things right in terms of finance too. At the moment the NRL have a state of relief, though not in the clear.
Could well do I mean hence from what I'm hearing here in NZ not many top players are signing long term deals and knee capping there earning potential.IMO this isn't a bad move from R360 if they haven't got there ducks in a row they've given themselves some breathing space to get the mentioned in a row.
I no for a fact in NZ even big name ABs are playing a wait and see game.Especially the ones with limited time left in the game.Coaches the lot. It's all wait and see as they have nothing to lose. The game here honestly is breathing a sigh of relief if you ask me as they now have that same space to lock the key guys up if they can.
Players have alot more power now they can pretty much dictate to the powers that be because there earning options around the world is expanding.
Its why I've been saying NRL clubs if they want to cripple rugby should get in at first 15 HS level and steal as many of the young up n comers as possible. The warriors have and are openly poaching Union talent, Parra grabbed one this year Melbourne grabbed NaS 10 years ago as they saw the potential back then.Melbourne also raided the NZ7s program of 2 outside backs in Will Warbrick and Moses Leo in the last 2-3 years to beef up there depth.
R360 who cares nevermind who they take let's be smart and attack Unions fountain of youth do the nrl clubs and Parra especially have the guile.Fiji NZ 7s World 7s circuit the above mentioned cmon Parra get your shit together it's there if you want it don't sit back and be a god damn spectator get amongst it 🤦♂️
Riff just signed Toby Crosby a union first 15 star 2 seasons ago off the warriors it's there if we want it.
"Pops, Lomax is a loss. He was our Haas with his yardage & grunt. A touch of Coates genius too. I was listening to James Graham last night, and like you he believes letting go of Lomax was a bad move.
For me, it was the Cleary On the Bus line in the…"

Of how easily Ryles let him walk, from what I have heard too where he said he was surprised how well Ryles took it, I doubt it.

Who else is there ?
I'd take Lomax back in a heartbeat. NSW, Australian rep players don't come along that often. Not to Parra anyways.
Me too as there's nobody else around
