The Parramatta Eels are delighted to announce that four-time NRL premiership-winning half Jarome Luai will join the Club for the 2027 NRL season.
One of the game's most accomplished playmakers, Luai brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Eels after establishing himself as one of the competition's premier halves.

Luai has enjoyed success at the highest level throughout his career and has also represented New South Wales in State of Origin, and Samoa on the international stage. His competitive nature, football intelligence and ability to perform under pressure make him a significant addition to Parramatta's roster next year.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O'Neill said Luai's arrival would provide an enormous boost to the Club both on and off the field.

“Jarome is one of the most experienced and successful players of his generation, and we're thrilled to welcome him to the Parramatta Eels next year,” O'Neill said.

“His record speaks for itself. Winning four premierships requires an exceptional level of commitment, consistency and professionalism, and those are qualities Jarome will bring to our football program every day.

“Beyond what he offers on the field, we believe Jarome will have a tremendous impact on our younger players coming through the system. His experience in high-performance environments and his professional approach to preparation and training will help mentor and develop the next generation of Eels,” added O’Neill.

The Parramatta Eels look forward to welcoming Jarome and his family in 2027.

  • So what happens now with Volkman and Papali next year

    • Volkman will be playing elsewhere & Joash will be in the same roll he is now

    • It's not next year we have to worry about it's the year after.

What then it's all in on Fletcher and Talataina and hoping Luai isn't a sleeper cell for PNG and using us and everyone else in his recruitment exercise.Big picture for Luai is PNG let's not hide from that fact. From the sounds of things his salary is but a pittance to what he's getting in TPAs all tax free of course.

Ill say this now for every player he manages to recruit you can best believe it improves in his sky rocket back pocket.

Luai is a desperate move to improve JR and the clubs track back to some sought of finals appearance as we are back in a similar situation this time next year.Moses must be pulling his hair out yes he'll be happy to be playing alongside someone competent but big picture it's pointless and I've mentioned this when does  Moses go for the rip cord because ever since DB has left the turnstile as his halves partner must make Moses feel like he has some sought of incurable disease they've been that poor at finding him a running mate.

Anyway onwards and upwards Cmon R nd R don't stop there go all in fire as many elite nrl talents we can find around Moses and let's see how deep we can go.

    • Just stupid not keeping Volkman on as a ready to go sub if things go at all like they did this year or worse. We've helped to improve him and now we let him go. Typically shortsighted.

everone says plenty of fish in the sea like Volkman ...but we need to fork out either way, so why not for one we know?. Guess we shall see?

      • Why would you match a decent 3 year deal from a Super League club for a reserve grader?

    • Who cares, Lorenzo and Fletcher are our future.

  • Only results on the field in 2027 will determine whether this is a good decision or not. Hoping though for positive results.

  • Good signing. I like it.

  • We needed the circuit breaker that was Super League to fix up our recruitment doldrums at that time; hopefully this signing can be the ciruit breaker we need for the 2020's recruitment doldrums. The forecast was bleak, this signing provides a glimmer of hope. Still need another 3 or four first grade player ready signings, but finally a grass shoot with Su'a and now Luai confirmed for next year.

  • Fuck yeah, now sign Timoko!

So the news of Horsburgh being given permission to talk elsewhere from Canberra doesn't come as a shock. There was talk circulating about a month ago he was in talks with Brisbane over a move there while still contracted to the Raiders. Horsburgh is…
