Here we go again, Manly vs Parra...
Always one of the games of the year for Eels supporters, tonight we see the boys up against the old foes, Manly and at home at Four Pines. Manly started the year well with a win then went onto the bye last week and should be fresh for tonight's game. They have an almost full strength team with Schuster finally taking his place in the 6 jersey, a deficiency imo that the Eels need to exploit. Hopefully for Sea Eagles supporters that Schuster is considerably fitter than last time he donned the 6 jersey.
The Eels go into this game with an unchanged team to the one which went down to the Sharks last week and is still missing two big guns in Lane and Matterson. The boys replacing these two should be better equipped and combinations surely have improved. The Eels halves will need to lead and each play close to their best to have any chance. Kick pressure on DCE should be a given and for the Eels this week, keeping the game simple and doing the basics right.
Our bookends will also need to fire and lead our younger forwards whilst setting a solid platform for our spine.
Hopefully Hodgson has settled into the team a little more and can instigate some top shelf attack.
Can't wait for this game and most pundits are 50/50 as to who will win. The Eels should be desperate after a 0-2 start to the season and I expect a good performance, but will it be good enough?
Garrick vs Simmonson is a worry...
So, who wins and by what margin?
MOM?

We should get home on pure desperation trying to avoid an 0-3 start.

Intriguing game. Imo, it all depends on our defence. We're 2nd worst in the comp atm. So, I'm not sure yet about us nor Manly (after one game). Recent history suggests this is likely be a 40+ score in total (pending conditions).
Interestingly, Gus is tipping the Eels (after correctly tipping against the Eels in previous two); expecting Eels to bounce back. To be more battle-hardened and stung, versus undeprepared Eagles off a bye. Listen from 47'.
Great that Gus thinks the eels will win, but hard to take Gus seriously anymore, so it's kind of a case of giving with the one hand but taking away with the other.
I have a good feeling for tonight. Backs against the wall, nobody tipping us, everyone against us. We prefer that.
Eels by 6 or over.
Eels by 12.
Hopgood and Moses to excel.
Eels by 4
Brown to have a big game tonight
Stinking hot day... Manly @Brooky...could be some deja vu of that horrible game in 2021 where they put over 50 on us. B Rad will have the boys running laps for 2hrs in 38 degrees late this arvo before the game so they get close to exhaustion and collapse... and then still use only 15 or 16 players... then of course wonder why the effort wasn't front loaded enough or collisions chased or whatever the hell else he craps on about...
Fingers crossed for a win and 0-3 will really eat balls but can't see it happening. Womanly get it I reckon.
