Game Day Blog - Panthers vs Eels

Well, it's game day.

The once mighty Parramatta Eels take on the form team, top of the ladder Panthers at Penrith tonight and what a game this should be.

What Eels team will show up? If ever the Eels need to regain that early season form it's tonight.

I believe that the only chance the Eels have of causing an upset is defend them out of the game. If we can defend well and just get a couple of tries, we may win.

It's the first time this year that the Panthers have all of their top squad available with no injuries at all. A very good position to be in.

The Eels are without Mahoney and Niukore and I believe no Niukore is actually a bigger loss as he has been our most consistent and determined forward all year. We were without him vs the Rabbitohs and had him in the team last week and the results speak for themselves.

The Eels will need to play their best game of the year to have any chance of stopping the Panthers momentum on 12 wins straight.

This is a chance to prove the Gus Gould's of the world wrong. Will it happen?

So, who wins and by what margin?

MOM?

  • I'll say Panthers by 6.

    • Is that a typo error Grunter ? After reading your doomsday introduction I expected you to tip Panthers to win by 46. Lol.

      • Yes my bad, 60.

        • Lol 26 possible!!!

  • Parra by 7, MON junior on his 150th. Lesssgo

  • The Riff by 12. MOM Cleary

  • I am watching the game tonight with my parents who are mad Panthers supporters. Sadly I think it will be a long night. I hope I am wrong but without Mahoney and Niukore I think our middle will be under a lot of pressure and that will lead to problems on our edges. Evans and Kafusi will need to step up but given the lack of game time for them in teh past I think it will come back to bite us. I would have liked to see Junior and RCG playing less minutes and our bench guys getting more minutes ealrier in season as I think we are wearing these guys out.

I hope I am wrong but I think Penrith by 13+ anything less than that and we have had a moral victory.

Best hope is to kick high to their wingers who are a bit on the vertically challenged side and hope Sivo and Fergo bring their jumping boots.

  • What a challenge for the club tonight,  fingers crossed we play our best footy and put in a great performance....Parra by 2

    GO PARRA !!!!!!!

  • Anything can happen in footy. Tigers were close to causing an upset last night against the 'inform, they smashed Parra so probably will win the comp' hyped up South Sydney team.
cant wait for tonight's game. Parra by 4

  • Eels 16 - 10 Panthers
