Galvin and signings

Any word if his going to come to Parra. I understand his going to be a very good player. But if his not going to be leaving until the end of next year is he really worth it.

Need Brown's replacement long term soon we are looking very promising give Ryles time.

Why not look at some promising juniors coming through the ranks.

    • Gus was pretty upfront 2 odd weeks ago on this:

“We are not involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion and we won’t be involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion,” Gould told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Galvin doesn't make sense for the Dogs, neither his price tag nor his play style. I honestly think the deal was unofficially done before Galvins agency started stirring up all the drama gunning for an immediate release.

And given it quietened down very suddenly I'm assuming that's because another behind the scenes agreement was made to let him walk at the end of this season if he buckles down and tries to get the Tigers a decent result this year.

I see nothing formally happening before 1st November now, and shortly after that for the Tigers to release him and the Eels to announce him for 2026.

      • Look there are ways to look at it as good and bad for Parramatta.

Firstly, the way Ryles and Moses have reacted over it in the past they are very cagey, joyful more so as if they know they have their man.

Secondly, Dogs made it clear they could see Galvin as a Lock in future, does he agree to that?

Thirdly, there are rumblings around that Luai could be looking at Canterbury in 2027.

I said last week my connections line to him going to Parramatta, but I also said not 100% more so 95%. I was under the assumption early on that we had no chance, then the whole thing happened around Easter and I came around to it and heard it from mate who works with his dad. If we miss out on Galvin considering how hard we are chasing with the money available, it is not great moving forward to convince forwards to come here.

One thing that gets me is how Webster says it was Dogs from start, well why did you not say that?

    • It doesn't seem that way it is just an inkling more so as Sexton not being committed to and talk of a signing. Not saying it won't happen, but it is more so a this could happen thing now.

      • So asked my mate this morning, who asked James Galvin about Dogs link. He came back with it is Parramatta. Doesn't mean it is 100% but that is what i receieved. So i guess we just have to wait unfortunately.

  • Sounds like he's heading to the Bulldogs

    • To be fair based on what though? He said things are going on behind the scenes, could be anything. Plus they do have Woods coming through. Not saying he does not go to Canterbury, but the only connection to this is Galvin is available, Dogs halfback talk has stalled and Gus said things are happening behind the scenes which could be anything. It is journalism 101. As i said last night, Webster said he heard from the start Wests believe it is Canterbury he is going to. Well if that was the case why did you not say that at the start? Only saying it now when news stories are slim at the moment.

Again, not saying he does not go to Dogs, just saying there is nothing about the reports other than guessing that links Galvin to Dogs. It could be a surge for DCE for all we know. Maybe Adam Reynolds. Maybe it is Galvin but nothing in the reports gives off that hint and Gus is playing mind games which he loves to do. Dogs also expressed their intent to turn him into a Lock. Would he want that?

I have connections as mentioned, it is where i got the tip off when he asked for a release last year it was to go to Penrith, which was rejected and they got Talagi. This morning the news i got was it is Parra from his dad.  For now i am taking that for what it is worth at the moment.

One thing i will say that will play against Parra is how long this drags out. The longer it drags the more another club could come in. But with the amount of money we have we should not be missing out.

Side note, i love how they say Galvin has not committed to anywhere yet. Yeah because technically he can't as per NRL rules. He has to wait til November 1. He is talking to clubs i am not dumb, but he cannot actually agree to go anywhere publically until either Wests give him permission, which they have not, or November 1. Top class journalism.
