No doubting it would be very challenging. Ultra competitive, many variables.
But HOE & I (I’m definitely not a moderator) are just fans like all of us, whereas Ben Rogers - I’m less concerned with MoN than others - is paid a very good wage to recruit & retain a premiership competitive roster. He has endless resources, contacts, opportunities, access to agents, players etc - he works within this world on a day to basis, unlike any of us.
Rogers as Head of Recruitment, imo, should be taking responsibility for a roster that shouldn’t be acceptable for upper management at the Eels, and it’s not limited to this season.
He’s had his chance. It’s time for change, and I’m not sure how much evidence, wasted seasons or hamstrung coaches the Eels need to make it.

Club decisions are for the club to make.
I'm staying out of Church of Sackings. It has enough members.
As long as we stay in our opinion lane and don't lose our marbles or humanity, it's all good.
But one thing I do respect is the club backing its people and believing in them. It would be a lot easier to sack a few for optics, or do ridiculous overs for a shiny new recruit, and give fans hope.
It's a race against time, but personally , I hope the club and Ryles era proves all the doomsayers – the ones who call for their heads and call out players and club employees the worst of the worst – wrong.

What would you pay for fish ? There was a big bopper for saints similar to underhill. Look good of that 1 game. We need a fui.

NOS, We just lost Keaon. Bon Voyage.
$1.05m for five is overs for Dylan – but if Ryles is desperate – deal.
Naturally, the only way Dylan would forgo the Knights extra $8m is to sack everyone and use O'Sullivan's scorcery and Richo's year-by-year PO wizardry.
So if we can't attract top tier talent what else is there but to over pay or wait until,an opportunity presents itself which is shrinking by the day with another 2 teams in the mix.
Do we have choice yes we do we can stick to our guns and quickly lose out yet again or do we swing for the fence and go for it.
Tick Tok Moses is on the clock if we wait for the opportunity that may eventually present itself is he done by that time if we aren't forcing the issue.
JR has said winning starts now not in 2-3 years when Moses is well into his back 9.
For me if your talking recruiting since about 23 we've missed the mark, when we've really needed to land the necessary we've come up short injury has exposed it because not only have we failed at the mentioned but our depth isn't there either so we are getting exposed.
Maybe MoN is doing the best he can maybe he is but is it good enough is the team as currently constructed with the mentioned constraints good enough to take us foward confidently I doubt it.But if Jim Matt and co believe it is so be it and there's no will for change then we get what we get.
NoS framed it well why bother getting Moses to remove his options if this is what he's got to look foward to.I mean the clubs doing everything it can to win right. We've basically pissed a way the mentioneds last 3 seasons bottom feeding.
A lot of great points & questions in there, Coryn.

I am in agreement with Coryn....we need to bite the bullet....but still be selective in what you know and do....big hunking middles are appearing, one in Melb, one at Warriors and others across the spectrum, want to pay rediculous sums, go Fraser-Harris and try and break his contract with a 1.5m take it or leave it offer, Warriors will not want to or will not lose him, after that stunning offer go for Amatual (sp) their no 16 of the bench and break him free at 500....if he is good as I think he could be he will be worth twice that before Moses goes grey.
Finally we should be prepared to offer 1m (if it takes that much) to free Burton.....we know exactly what we are getting and he will be a perfect backline anchor starting at 5/8 for the next 5 years. WE need to tighten that backline defence and Burton does that and we also have the best/2nd best kicker in the game and a 5/8 that can score a try from anywhere. Contary to what everyone thinks, he is also a leader, the perfect foil for Moses.
One final pickup I would go for is Xerri, since his comeback I have not been impressed in comparison to what his potential was before his experiment in the world of Cronulla's physcadelic period.....he is showing me now that he is starting to come free, he is running with that smooth excelerated action that he showed as a kid (I thought he looked a potential Reg Gasnier.....in those days btw for the unwashed Gasnier was the greatest centre that ever lived). I believe that a "overs" offer would land him.....like anyone that I have mentioned none of these players will come for unders or market....they will all need to be paid overs or very good TPA's which they could be wary of unless the TPA is well known and respected.
Its a time for this big slumbering giant to drop his balls and start some FIFO characteristic's i.e Fit In or Fcuk OFF!

At least we get a deal. One. Finally. Pheww.
No way just a plodder. Saints needs this type of forwards. Tonga moves like a giraffe with broken legs.
