I've been frustrated recently about the work we have been doing in the open market. Jonah's alright for a year and JDB is solid but he's getting old. I feel we need more in the forwards and some a replacement outside back. All I have seen is links towards Brian Kelly which is exciting but if we want to become premiership contenders were going to need more bigger name signings. The rumours about Keoan Koloamatangi have gone silent recently but I hope were still pushing to get him as I think he's the sort of forward leader that could push us that extra step.
As for that I haven't seen any strong rumours about players linked to our club, and I feel the club needs to be doing better. I think we still need atleast 2 more signing coming into the new season so is there any rumours that any of you have heard of? I'm genuenly confused about how JR is going to take this club forward with the amount of players getting sent out the door and the minimal amount of players coming in the door.

I don't see why everyone is in 'Panic Mode' on here ?
We beat the Premiers away from home in Round 20 this season, from the side that played that game we have only lost Lomax and Hawkins.
For me, surely Pezet is an upgrade on Hawkins but yes Lomax is a loss, I don't think Lomax is the sort of loss that is going to plummet us down to be Wooden Spoon contenders though.
The very week next week we push the other Grand Finalists right to the end.
Some very positives signs over a two week period late in the season for us.
I don't think we are as far off the mark as some people on here are making out, another Pre-Season under Ryles should see some more improvement with player combinations, tactics, club culture etc etc.
Ultimately, our success hinges on the fitness of Moses, that's a bigger priority than signing fringe players to fill a gap in our roster.
Can only control the controllable JB, i suspect the Pezit was bought more for that insurance than actually being a 5/8.
I wonder if it is possible that Joash mounts a case for 5/8 over Pezit, unlikely I know, but the preseason creates direct contrasts and Pezit is no world beater, especially as a 5/8.
Totally agree about controlling all we can control, people on here are acting like superstar players are immediately available for Season 2026.
If we can't sign a superstar we will no doubt promote a kid and give him an opportunity on minimal money and assess from there.
Poppa I read the Pezet signing as an interesting signal from Ryles, Pezet has a lot to show before I make my own judgement on his ability but Ryles would obviously know more and has a decent opinion to allow this One Year thing to happen, to me, a signing like this makes me think Ryles thinks we are a decent chance of winning the title in 2026......... no other explanation makes sense of the Pezet situation.
As for Joash, I really liked what I seen in 2025, in my opinion he wouldn't look out of place on the wing as Lomax's replacement, yes he would obviously lack the yardage Lomax contributed but I think Ryles would play an expansive brand of footy from our own end to give Joash and Addo-Carr the space needed to make big metres.
The eels have lost young centre/wing Dominic Farrugia to the roosters.
Is he any good?
HKF , re Dom Farrugia - NO, Didnt come on last season like they hopeed after NRL pre season. Reasonable finisher and goal kicker but is not NRL quality IMO. Nice kid though and fits in so will have further development but I think he will struggle.
He signed elsewhere , so no , now he's obviously shit. Before this announcement , he was so good we decided not to chase any good players as we didn't want to block this awesome young guns path.
