That's true and I've said as much myself in the past but if you aren't a real premiership contender and are trying to build for a tilt in the near future a bad draw can really set you back. I don't think this is a bad draw overall but that start could break us.
But we do have 6 of our first 9 at home.
Potentially 0-4 or 1-4 to start the season could knock the confidence right out and being at home after that could mean little.
If we can manage 2 wins from that first 4 we will be in a good position so there is a benefit if you manage to play good enough.
That is a top 8 draw for us, anything else will be considered a failure.
So in the 1st four games they play the premiers, runners up and another top 4 side and all away from home. Melbourne in Melbourne week 1 then Broncos in Brisbane week 2. Yep sounds about fair. NRL really likes Parra
Yeah and they made us travel alo......oh wait no we travel the least of any team in the comp. Plus have 14 games at Commbank overall. Plus looking at it as it is based on last year finish the last 6 weeks with only 1 top 8 team, 3 of the games at Commbank. Can we stop this whole "NRL hates us" tag, it is pathetic. If we fail this year it is on them not the NRL.
Brisbane play Melbourne and Penrith in first 3 rounds. Not mentioned as they won the comp but still got two teams who were in the last 4.
Canberra get Warriors away, then Cronulla and Dogs. One top 4 teams and two top 6 teams in first 4 rounds.
Only 3 of last years top 8 we play twice this year. The ones we play once (Crounlla, Warriors, Roosters, Brisbane, Canberra) 3 of them we play at home.
So please stop this conspiracy. Again, if we fail it is on us.
This is one of our better draws in recent years. We are always going to play storm panthers dogs tigers manly twice. That's a given lol. But this draw is pretty solid
Well surprised we didn't get Brisbane twice.
I get that people say 'no such thing as a fair draw' but to play last year's Grand Finalists in week 1 and week 2 both away? Who did we upset at NRL HQ to get that little gift?
I really feel for the Knights. They have 24 games against teams that are better than them. Toughest draw by miles...
