Finals attendance figures

The NRL must be stocked with the attendance this weekend... 28k on Friday, 26k in Auckland, 17k last night and plenty of empty seats for today's game. And that's despite most of the stadiums holding much larger numbers.

With Souths now gone, and Newcastle without a home game, there are no other clubs that will pull big numbers. Imagine a finals series with Parra, Canterbury, St George, Souths, Brisbane, Newcastle, Wests.

  • The sharks should be kicked out of the comp with only 17k turning up.   Thats a joke.  Might aswell move them to Adelaide

    • Just let them play at their fucking dump.

  • In Sydney only Parramatta, Dogs and Dragons can attract huge crowds in finals  , just a shame that they are shit clubs .

    • Always thought Souths had huge swathes of support no?

      Roosters have no base.

  • I just noticed the staduim at Commbank. It is empty for and its Penrith Roosters! How?

  • The panthers should be embarrassed they can only draw half a stadium to a finals match after totally dominating the comp for the past 7 years.

    • They were one of the smallest fan bases pre 2020. They're all bandwagoners now

    • Considering Commbanks just up the road. The NRL have some issues looking at their finals attendance numbers that's for sure.

    • I know. Imagine if that was Parra winning all those Premierships! The NRL wouldn't know what to do with us, we would be so dominant.

    • I mean yeah if Parra played it's sold out in minutes, home or away team.

NRL's dream for a Sunday final would be Eels v Dogs at CommBank. But even then the NRL would consider Accor to get a big crowd.

"I'd consider it if I was stuck in certain suburbs in Sydney , Sydney's looking like a cross between a World Vision ad and Dahravi these days. "

"lol Sydney and Melbourne aren't exactly a great yard stick. There wouldn't be too many coastal city's that aren't better then Sydney or Melbourne as a whole these days.   I'd rather be homeless here than live in Melbourne. Going there for work in…"

"I doubt we are chasing Burton to play centre. I believe he is a better 5/8 for us. If we offer him the 6 jumper with a decent 3-4yr contract, we will get him. If he's happy to play centre, he will stay at the Dogs. I don't think Perth are in the…"

"Nunn is an out an out prop. Koina & Bell will be the locks off the future of the club. Polley can play backrow and lock at a high level but due to Koina & Bell he will probably be a backrower with Petrus."

"I think Bell has a higher ceiling than Koina but Koina is more proven right now. Has played u19 origin and nsw cup. Bell is only 17 this year so still got to play SG ball next year.
Bell is a Dylan Walker/Yeo/Murray mixture of a player. Koina is…"

"He'd be my No. 1 target for left centre. He is a tough tackler, can pass well, and will provide a kicking option beyond Moses, and whether its Addo-Carr, Skelton or Samrani or whoever playing LW, he can help them.
He'll also provide another goal…"

"I'm fine with that. Give us a good 2027 and on your way.
We have plenty of those small mobile middles coming through: Guymer, Koina, Pryke, Lokeni, Popo, Doorey. They can all step up and that's assuming we don't go to market. "

"We will sign more players before 2027, it's just about their caliber. I think we'll sign a Cup-level winger and fullback. The question can we get the gun left centre or winger for 2027 or 2028. Looks likely 2028. "
