The second year sydrome
Here is a point !!!!! inluding GF , TRIALS , GAME 1 , We have now lost 5 in a row , so by my caculations we are due for a few wins GO PARRA 2010 , Tahu surprised me and actually tried today .

That just proves that these scrums are a joke! It was actually happening before the time out rule changed as well. There were always backrowers standing out of the scrum.
I think that the amount of time they spend setting scrums these days they may as well feed it in the middle and let them go at it.
It became like that as backs would rush into a scrum, invariably time off would be called as soon as the scrum packed down,.... this would then allow the forwards to catch up and pack in when the ref called for the scrum to be re-formed.

Trouble with that argument is - the forwards are rarely in the scrum!
Disagree... Point of the scrum is to give an advantage to the team feeding because the other team made an error (or kicked the ball out). Their role now is more to get the forwards out of the defensive line for a play and give the backs a chance to…

Most of the time it's lucky if the ball even gets behind the legs. Feed it in the middle for sure. Can stop the push if the game wants, but clean up the feed.

Yes I agree, they should be penalised if they do something wrong and the game is getting wayyyy to quick.
But my argument is that with the old scrum the team that has made a mistake has no chance of getting the ball back and the team in possession…
You disadvantage the team without possession because they made a mistake.....should they really get a chance to prepare?
I agree that the old scrums won't be back, but I also think that certain facets and traditions of the "OLD" game need to be ret…
I would prefer the old scrum as well but if that is never going to happen, what is the point in having them waste time having a scrum in its current form?
