What we know so far

We may only be into round 2 but there are plenty of signs the Eels of 2024 are improved on the 2023 version. - Junior off the bench: I tipped this as a change that was needed last year. With Parramatta regularly lacking punch and creativity from the…

"Absolutely.  You adopt the feotal position, you deserve to be kicked.
The NRL never treat the big clubs like that because they couldn't be bothered with the inevitable fallout from certain powerbrokers.
You can imagine Annersley on a Monday…"

That's what shits all supporters, there is…"

Plus he would have been…"

"Great blog, Pops. We probably should be "busting our arses" every week, and I'd say some in our squad already do.
On face value, Dylan marking up on Tago in defence is a no brainer. The speed and laterally challenged Tuliagi on Tago is a tragic…"

"It is similar but Tamale looks more talented than Te Whare. Te Whare can be lazy but can move for his size. Tamale is an athletic freak. It is not a massive risk as we aren't going to be paying him much to start and not expecting him to start, just…"

Parramatta Eels enter race for Dragons youngster

This was reported recently by Mutman and here's an article this morning from Zero Tackle  ETHAN LEE CHALKWRITER | MARCH 19, 2024 - 9:26AM Yet to make his NRL debut, youngster Savelio Tamale could be on the move away from the St George Illawarra Dragons with a rival club showing interest in the prospect. An Under-19s New South Wales standout, Tamale appeared in 12 games for the Dragons NSW Cup team last year, averaging 130 running metres and 61 tackles for the season.Currently weighing up his…

Most impressive and disappointing: Round 2 v Penrith

Let's start by saying the sky is not falling, there are no real concerns and season is not over. I think that is very fair to say. It is also fair to say i was pleased with our performance considering the circumstances. To lose a Winger, then to have a back-rower who 1) has never really played there before 2) never trained there with us and 3) defending in the hardest position on the field, it is far from ideal obviously. Added to that is moving your Centre who is primarily known for defence to…

Manly Going to be Difficult Next Week

Just been watching the Manly vs Roosters game and I must say the Sea Eagles are looking like a very good team. Noticed too that Nathan Brown is having a very good game. Manly have some powerful strong runners in their backline. Tom Turbo is also in very good form and Brooks is playing really good. They're going to be very tough next week. Especially no Simmonsen, Sivo, Moses not a 100% and Eels have nothing in reserves. Poor recruitment again has been a real cluster F**CK in my opinion

Jerome Lui tackle

Was Luia's tackle on Baily Simonsson deliberate??I think so.I think Luia would have know that the Eels would have struggled to cover his position. As soon as Simonsson went off the Pantehrs attacked that side of the field all afternoon.Lui was not at all worried about being placed on report as he knew he would only have to pay a fine, which is why he attempted to trip an Eel player later in the game. Not very sportsman like to say the least. I hope the Eels have a "get square" plan for Luia next…

Two points we won't get back!...... Arse Kicking time and no one should miss out!

I have waited to Sunday to write this, as I had difficulty in getting my feelings right about our performance.I agree that Harper was treated/judged harshly by some over his performance. He did some very good things using his initiative and seeing he was posted out there with only Dylan sweeping across to help he did pretty well in a comparative sense. I actually think he could play winger if required as his jamming showed more judgement than our wingers typically have shown.I have mentioned in…

Nuclear Power a Balanced View

I previously wrote a blog on the subject of nuclear power.Professor Daz basically took my comments apart and justifiably so as I had nowhere near the knowledge or research capacity to lay a factual basis for the proliferation of nuclear power other than a view I privately held via an economist friend of mineI receive a lot of economic commentary and a newsletter I receive from another economist paints what I believe to be a more balanced view of the discussion. I say this because Daz pointed…

What is everyone's preferred BBQ meat choice?

So Sunday, to celebrate the start of a new season, i am hosting my mates with a BBQ, pool table, darts and man cave while watching the Vegas matches. Though i am curious for a fun discussion what is everyone else's go to for the BBQ? For me, a piece of Scotch Fillet, seasoned with salt and a BBQ seasoning which consists of mustard seeds, paprika, thyme, garlic and more that i cannot remember, cooked to medium rare to medium, simply devine. All i can say is on a pan cooked same is my death row…

Bali ?

Let me start by saying , I've never , ever wanted to go to this stinking Indonesian cesspool in my life. But now a bunch of the wife's pals have got into her head about a group holiday and I've been roped into agreeing to go. All I know is I don't want to stay in Kuta or anywhere there is a bunch of fuckwit Aussies being loud fuckwits , but I do want somewhere I can walk out of my hotel and have a drink and watch the footy etc without the town being a ghostown when the streetlights go out.…
