BEM replied to LB's discussion Ky Rodwell released
"He is good under the high ball but offers very little running the ball backhand isn't overly quick.
He is on par with Sivo in those areas but Sivo has a better try scoring strike rate.
He really wouldn't offer us anything we don't already have and…"

"Exactly right.
Potential only gets you so far.
We need quality backs that have played a fair bit of 1st grade NRL not other clubs reserve graders. They could be just as bad as our reserve graders."

"Really, BEM? I see different. Only for 2-3 years but i just feel Oates has big plays in him compared to what we have. Oates at times can come up with that moment out of nowhere."

BEM replied to LB's discussion Ky Rodwell released
"Oates is really no better than what we currently have.
Lomax, if we could land him would be far better.
As for Rodwell, there were a few on here spouting that he was the future of the club. Lol"

"After the Penrith game I thought that our first grade 2-5 were equally as useless. The Penrith outside backs were all over us. My thoughts after the game were we need a top notch 2,3,4,5. We do not have that at the moment"

Ky Rodwell released

Ky Rodwell has been released from the final year of his contract to join Wakefield Trinity in the Champsionship. After 5 games for the club between 2021 and 2022, with Ky the best of luck. Did not quite workout since the type of player he is suits the game more in the early 2000's as that workhorse. We have enough of them in the team. In 2023 he started the first trial on route to getting a bench spot, then he and Ogden had shocking games, leading to Makatoa and Greig both getting spots over…

Hayze Perham

I heard a rumour from a mate that's a Dog's fan si take it with a grain of salt. he might be coming back he's on the outs at the Dog's.I sure hope we can do better than him although he is also better then Lumelume Cini and Dunster that in itself is a indictment of our R&R team. Has anyone else heard this?

Most impressive and disappointing: Round 2 v Penrith

Let's start by saying the sky is not falling, there are no real concerns and season is not over. I think that is very fair to say. It is also fair to say i was pleased with our performance considering the circumstances. To lose a Winger, then to have a back-rower who 1) has never really played there before 2) never trained there with us and 3) defending in the hardest position on the field, it is far from ideal obviously. Added to that is moving your Centre who is primarily known for defence to…

Nuclear Power a Balanced View

I previously wrote a blog on the subject of nuclear power.Professor Daz basically took my comments apart and justifiably so as I had nowhere near the knowledge or research capacity to lay a factual basis for the proliferation of nuclear power other than a view I privately held via an economist friend of mineI receive a lot of economic commentary and a newsletter I receive from another economist paints what I believe to be a more balanced view of the discussion. I say this because Daz pointed…

What is everyone's preferred BBQ meat choice?

So Sunday, to celebrate the start of a new season, i am hosting my mates with a BBQ, pool table, darts and man cave while watching the Vegas matches. Though i am curious for a fun discussion what is everyone else's go to for the BBQ? For me, a piece of Scotch Fillet, seasoned with salt and a BBQ seasoning which consists of mustard seeds, paprika, thyme, garlic and more that i cannot remember, cooked to medium rare to medium, simply devine. All i can say is on a pan cooked same is my death row…

Bali ?

Let me start by saying , I've never , ever wanted to go to this stinking Indonesian cesspool in my life. But now a bunch of the wife's pals have got into her head about a group holiday and I've been roped into agreeing to go. All I know is I don't want to stay in Kuta or anywhere there is a bunch of fuckwit Aussies being loud fuckwits , but I do want somewhere I can walk out of my hotel and have a drink and watch the footy etc without the town being a ghostown when the streetlights go out.…
