  • Beautiful design! How good would this be?!

If this is to be approved in the new State budget it will be because of the collective work of the Eels and Wanderers. Both organisations should take a bow, for had it not been for their collectively strong Membership bases, collective game attendance figures and the collective lobbying of senior officials and executive management from both organisations, then none of this would be potentially possible. Fingers crossed the upgrade makes it through!

  • funny .... it's looking more and more like the ORIGINAL concept for the stadium every time I see it!!!

How this could have been all avoided had we got the ORIGINAL stadium that was intended the first time around!!!

  • Thanks Chief, I didn't see 7 news so very interesting to watch.

I don't really get the Allianz upgrade. How often is the current stadium full? None of the current tenants - Roosters, Waratahs, Sydney FC - average more than around 20K spectators. Maybe with a better stadium they'd get bigger crowds, but I'm guessing only like 10-20% bigger.

And if you take big games there - like Origin, Grand Final, Bledisloe - then you're just spending public money to take them away from another perfectly good stadium in ANZ.

  • Was reported on 7 news phil. Apparently ANZ will not receive any funding and the NSW government will take full ownership.

John Broggden who did the Stadiums research and development reviews recommend Parramatta Stadium be developed into a 35000 seat stadium to accommodate the growing WSW fan base, and Allianz be converted into a premium 60'000 seater.
  • What was this from?

  • It pissed me off tonight when Channel 7 reported that Parramatta Stadium would get upgraded for the Wanderers. not a mention of the Eels.
