World Class Arena for Parramatta

Report by Lee Jeloseck that Pirtek stadium could be receiving more than the initial $29 million upgrade it is set to receive with the stadium being completely knocked down and re-built so that it can cater for 35k people. It is also reported that Liverpool and Penrith are in the running for this massive upgrade.

Without a doubt Parramatta is the best option for re-development out of the stadiums/areas mentioned. The Western Sydney lines all go to Parramatta, we already have 2 well established clubs that use the stadium and if the results on the field are positive then both clubs will exceed the measly 21k capacity. Another thing that Parra has over them is the fact that we have various train-lines that stop at Parramatta.

I must urge ALL Parramatta fans if possible that you become ticketed members. This is the only way to keep putting pressure for this development to happen.

    WOW! My god, are people finally starting to see sense!

    This is the only option that wouldn't immediately become a white elephant. Liverpool, Penrith, etc are never going to attract crowds over 20k.

    Seriously though the only option that would make scenes towards the future of western Sydney sport would the joint Wanderer/Parramatta organizations getting up

    Government won't want to move Dogs out of Homebush. Wests fans - who are actually mostly Balmain supporters - have proven that they're BMWs and Audi's have inability to drive further than about 10km south of Parramatta Road. Wanderers dont' want to play there. They're richest demographic is the North West and they'll have the same Parramatta Road issue.

        There is also talk of a light rail system that would be brought in if the bigger stadium which would give more incentive for people to catch the train rather than park their car as close as possible to the stadium so they don't have to walk far.

    I'll be happy with any amount of relocation time if it meant coming back to a 35000 seat undercover stadium.

    1 1/2 seasons I'm guessing.

    Great news its good the wanderers do not want to leave the parramatta area im suprised actually popa didn't want to play game at anz stadium :)

    Parramatta is going to be the other centre of syndey in the near future and will be a hub for entertainment sports restraunts etc
