Just want to throw a big congrats to my son on his Sydney West School Soccer team winning the state titles. I coached him for 10 years before he went on and plays in the elite level NPL just under A League. We were told when he first started at that level that local/park players are nothing, yet everyone starts there. Well all those doubters can now kiss my A$$ as he is know well in the sights to make the CHS team for nationals. Once again not bad for a "park" soccer player.
P.S. apologies to most of you who dont like soccer

LOL, that heading is kind of Captain Obvious...
Congratulations mate and well done to your young bloke - awesome achievement!!
You should send his highlights tape to the greatest soccer team on the planet: Crystal Palace :))
Just sent me a message as well. He is shadow for the state schools team for the nationals. All of his team and coach stated he should have been given player of the match but guess what. Went to a player that plays for the wsw youth. But oh well he now knows he is capable of mixing it with the best
Hope he gets a gig for Palace down the track, they are the only ones worth playing for.
Good work :)
Congrats to your son, just remember it is your sons achievement and don't try to live through him, (not suggesting you are), always encourage him and leave the criticism to his coach. I use to coach junior rugby league and seen far too many parents trying to live through their kids achievements and being highly critical when they don't do so well. Those kids nearly always end up giving it away, even the real talented ones.
HKF. I am not trying to live through him as I played at state level myself as a youngster. Just pi$$ed at the wankers that doubted him yet he has proved them wrong on his own. I encourage all kids not just my own to be the best they can.
