  You make some very valid points Rocky. Instead of relying on moderators though, you would think grown adults could moderate their own inputs on this site. There really is no need for any of it.

  This site has more freedom of speech than many other sites, and i know of one site that's so moderated that criticism of a coach or player is deemed unsportsmanlike.
  
  However I'll have to agree on many occasions the moderators on 1ee seem like ghosts when it comes to social issues. but it ihas improved slightly on the past.
  
  Still, it's not good enough so wake up to yourselves.

    There is a difference with moderating racist, sexist vile comments compared to banning comments on Coaches etc. If a moderator couldn't define a line in the sand then they are not up to standard. I agree with the post completely...

  I think the majority of us feel the same Rocky. It’s obvious that if you ban those people the traffic on the site will diminish significantly. It’s a lose lose situation for the sites owner. Ignorance is bliss Rocky. Sad but true.

  Rocky, well said. I, too, am shocked by this Dom character and by the comment someone made the other day saying they hope that whoever it was gets cancer and AIDS abd the whole family dies. That’s the kinda shit I don’t wanna read while on this site. I want to read the latest info on the Eels, who’s coming to the Eels, about the team not blogs about how farked the coach is just because we lost the first two games of the year. Grand finals are not won in March (unless they’re Melbourne)

    I have no problems with blogs about how farked the coach. I just don't get the aggression and personal comments and the whole white pride thing going on.

  Totally agree. There's a member on here whom used to call people that disagreed with him retards. I have a friend who has cerebral palsy that loves the Eels and checked the comments on the rumours of who we might sign on here. She hasn't been on here for years because of the crap on here. Pretty sad. The strong elements on here will say who cares, freedom of speech, man up, grow some, go to another site etc. it's just not right.

  Rocky, moderators don't spend all day on here sifting through every blog & post for offensive material, they are volunteers who actually have lives, families & jobs and sometimes they go long periods between visits to the site.
  Furthermore what is offensive varies from person to person, when I was a mod I was accused at various times of being too heavy handed and over moderating by some and being too lax by others.
  In the end the site is meant to be self regulated and the mods only step in if they feel something or someone is getting out of hand.
  If you find something offensive, don't look at it or read it. It's actually pretty simple.
