I have been watching and listening to all peoples views on the season just gone.

what has happened. What are we missing.

I agree this years effort on the field has been really disappointing to say the least so I have thought about it and would also like your opinion on what I think.

one big thing I have noticed is how much improved south Sydneys defence is this year aggressive and tough.  a little like the eels were last year. I wonder who their defence coach is now Bernie?????

lets go back into dreamtime the good old days.

Terry fernley put together a very good football team who were quite competitive.

Then in 1981 parramatta signed a coach and an assistant that would change history (ding dong the witch is dead)

after 1986 parramatta still had a good football team but something was missing. we lost our good cop bad cop. Mick (the crow) Cronin) and Ray Price.

Ray spoke his mind, put his body on the line. and if you didn't do the same he would rip your head off and shit down your neck.  Mick was a calming influence and guided the young backs. he was a gentlemen as hard as nails and had great football smarts.  in 1987 our heart and soul disappeared .

everyone speaks of sterling and Kenny two awesome players but they were there and still the semis seemed a distant memory.

the eels need to find these types of players 

a warrior war horse and a steady influence and success will come.

A Young James Graham would be suitable, to fire the boys up and lead.

A steady influence who that could be I don't know.

the closest we have had would be Cayless in hiss later years.

we need a captain. calm and calculating. one who says follow me boys and takes up the fight.

we have one of the best ever fullbacks - Jarryd hayne

we have one of the best ever centres - Michael Jennings

we have one of the best wingers in the game now - 

we have some fine players some good youth 

Tim mannah is a hard worker (not a captain) to nice

we have a young hooker who in my opinion had a great end of year. but we need a dam good hooker to guide him. 

all in all we need a warrior for a captain that will bleed and give it to the boys 

a captain that will make a call on the run and stand around and discuss the next option and allow the defence enough time to go for a wee and have a hotdog while we get set.

we need a captain that when a player stuffs up he knows he's going to be starred down by the devil.

what was parramattas strength guts and capitalising on an opportunity . broken play specials.

we need to find a leader or groom one quick.  

the eels need trainers and support staff that know rugby league and only want success.

the Parramatta club should always deem a position of 5th or worse a failure.

the semis are a different comp.

make the hard decisions front office. make them now. 

all dead wood should be moved on.

if your on a million a year play like it or get cut.

if all us supporters were on that and didn't perform in our jobs we would be on centreline.

get tough or get out.

Please can someone wake up the sleeping giant of the west.
