DISCUSSION BLOG - NOT A CRITICISM (YET)

I have had occasion to contact the club on a couple of issues I believe are important - surprisingly if you phone the club they have adopted the new modern approach - put it into an email and we will get back to you.

You cannot, for example, actually get to speak to anyone other than the reception crew regardless of the purpose of your call.

I had an incident recently where a young bloke over in Westmead Hospital, from out of town, was doing it real tough and someone approached me to see if the club could arrange a visit by a player, a couple of players, or something to cheer him up and perhaps give him the boost needed to speed his recovery.

The young bloke and his family are Parra Tragics and can't get down to Parra to the meet 'n greet training sessions or perhaps get to see players after games.

"Send an email" I was told - NO FUCKING REPLY AFTER A WEEK.

I have attempted to contact the club re the Organ Donor Awareness round Drop Bear had instigated.

"Send an email. We will se that Bernie gets it."

The email address is NOT Bernie's it is the generic membership email address.

NO FVCKING REPLY after about 1 month of sending my last email.

Meanwhile over at the Dogs Raelene has replied to emails sent no more than 2 weeks ago on this very same subject and is actively trying to help.

Now given the turmoil of last year one wonders at the "new" administration's attitude toward members and request being sent into the club.

Yes they would receive many requests - some of them not worthy of consideration - however a great PR opportunity or to be seen to be doing something real for the fans do NOT come under that category.

As far as I can discern the only communication from the club to members id via "official" announcements with NO response to individual emails or contact

As I said - this is not YET a criticism but a genuine question as to the club's stance on member requests.

  • The new administration? Hmmmm.
I realise that it is a shocking sports program, BUT Talkin' Sport... well Graham Hughes, has heard that things are still not all rosey out Parra way, off the field?
Anyone have any legit info? My first thoughts were the player manager stuff perhaps, or they are just septic tanks on that show?

Sorry Col, a tad off subject.
    • Graeme Hughes doesn't hide his hatred of our club
    • Yeah he missed out on the football managers job. Sour grapes.
    • Im not in the know but have had some dealings with the club through work.
From what i observed and please don't takr this as fact its just an observation
Alot of people were made redundant last year not all positions have been replaced some unhappy campers at the office filling multiple roles.
  • This is not good news.  I can only imagine that with all of the admin cut backs this is one of the areas affected?

  • Not good enough. Wake up Parra. Good on you for trying Col.
  • That's not on Col, unhappy to hear that
    • Even if you cannot answer a question or arrange something straight away ,a good manager responds personally from the right department and acknowledges the person has been heard and processes are taking place or it has been passed to the appropriate person who can help. Poor.
  • I suspect you are right Brett. I'd hope the club can improve on this over the year however. The fans are the basis of the club and need to be treated appropriately.
  • Oh I agree Muttman and I have told him so live on air.
I just thought that there may be something there?
