Got myself a fancy a new webcam yesterday, so I thought I'd have a crack at doing a video blog. It went a big longer than I expected so the gist of the video blog is to question whether it makes sense in any match for Jarryd to be locked into either half back or five-eighth.
Rather instead it might make sense for Hayne to start the match at fullback and then when the match opens up or Parramatta's forwards start to get on top then we use our interchanges to move Hayne into the halves.

Nice work Phil, good first effort mate. I agree Hayne should be fullback but am not so sure about him coming up to 5/8. Thats great for this year if we keep winning. But if our season is over in the next few weeks I reallly think Jarryd should concentrate on fullback. My reasons are :
1. We will have a recognised halves pairing next year allowing Hayne to play the fullback "roaming" role.
2. Because of this Jarryd really needs to improve his positional play at the back (watching Burty last week just highlighted this).
3. I personally think Jarryd needs a defined role in the side as right now he is pretty much expected to be Parra's attack from back front and side.
Anyways nice work, & I will trust Mook to make best use of Jarryd ( cause like I have a say in it anyway lol)
Agree about him playnig a mixed role.
I do believe he did it last week for small periods as well.
Starting off with good defence is a great idea but I would change my lineup with keating to the bench and put Casey at 9
then i would put reni or robson.if you want more defence on the fringe. I start with Burt in at fullback and depending on who kicks off and where we are in field position make the changes required between burt and hayne. EELS by 14
Interesting points. It's obvious our playmakers can't do anything if our forwards aren't making breaks.
What I like about Hayne at 5/8 is bringing Burt into the game more. He can make things happen when nothing is on, and it gives us strike from different avenues. Namely Burt, Matua, Horo, Moi Moi and Hayne. These three have the ability to break the line and should be balanced accross the paddock.
