Parramatta Eels Supporters Website .-)

I thought I would add this table so everyone could see the total memberships (ticketed and non-ticketed) that have been sold up til 9th March.

It's probably not worthy of a new blog but I couldn't find any that it would be relevant to add to.

Anyway, here it is:

I'd like the NRL to reveal the dollar value of these memberships as well:

There is a for example obviously a massive difference between selling a $1000+ platinum membership and a $70 non-ticketed membership. From speaking to Ozzy, 80 per cent of our membership numbers are ticketed and I'd be interested to know if thats the same with other clubs as well.

Yes, that would be good.

I know for Cronulla, they have more than 3300 as ticketed members, so not so many non-ticketed.

I have also heard of a bit of a scam explaining why St George has soooo many. You need 5 games to be classed as a ticketed membership, so St George has divided their memberships into Wollongong and Kogarah memberships to supposedly help the fans who only want to travel to one location. However, when the fans who want to go to all games buy a membership for each location this is counted as 2 ticketed memberships.Typical St George behaviour!

Speaking to a Manly fan mate of mine. He described a package that sounded pretty much the same as our Hindmarsh membership ($200) but got a t-shirt as well and Eagles were asking for $450!! Either we're getting a pretty decent deal or MWSE are jipping their fans..

I actually thought the Eels memberships were a bit more expensive than the Sharks ones but I must admit they had more stuff that came with it.

My main issue with the memberships at Parra are the lack of choices for Family memberships, as they are only available in a couple of areas, whereas they are available everywhere at Cronulla.

Is that a supply demand thing do you think? Or to do with alcohol areas? Serious question.

Probably Normo...I mean Parra has more fans to purchase so can set up these restrictions, whereas we are desperately trying to get more memberships sold.

You can get a family membership at Parra in the Northern and Southern Terrace (non-alcohol) and the Mick Cronin Stand. So if you want a reserved seat you have to buy the Mick Cronin one at $650.

At the Sharks you can buy the family memberships anywhere, ranging in price from $420 to $850, with the cheapest Reserved seating being $530. Families can choose to buy a membership in the non-alcohol area or not.

I think its good to provide non-alcohol areas for families but I, myself prefer to have a couple of beers while watching the footy, even when I go with my kids.I like to have the choice of where I'm sitting (excluding the non-alcohol areas, of course) and still be able to have a beer.

Maybe Parra just wants to be able to ensure the families are together so they can watch out for them better...

Do use know how much members we have just in ticketed?

When the number was in the 6000s, it was more than 5000. I don't expect that proportion would have changed given there has been a big focused on ticketed membership. I think now that the season is underway, the club should probably start to shift its focus to non-ticketed for casual game-goers.

Not sure if you read the story I posted on membership earlier in the year, but they're planning a whole bunch of member benefits around the membership that would make the non-ticketed membership more valuable

On the 2nd March, Parra had 6,272 ticketed memberships, compared to 3,704 in 2009. I could put up that table too but it might be taking up too much space on the website.

How's the Melbourne Storm's form?? They've played in 4 premiership deciders in the last 4 years and are the reigning premiers yet their membership has reduced!

Honestly, send Cam Smith, Billy Slater and Greg Inglis up to Sydney to play for a team whose fans actually give a shit!

I think their memberships only went on sale not too long ago. I can't remember exactly when but maybe that has something to do with it.

Although with the season about to start I don't know if they will be able to get almost 3000 people to sign up so quickly.
