Tinkerbell's Latest Adventure

Good evening all,

As of late there has been lots of discussion about how we can make our club better. They are questions which we want answered by the coach, by the CEO, by those running for board and by those who might have a little bit more inside 'sauce' than the rest of us.

Tonight I took my first step toward trying to get some of those questions answered and went to my first Parramatta Eels Supporters Club meeting. While each meeting probably won't be identical to the one I attended tonight, we had some very special visitors. SK came and addressed us as did 2 of the gentleman who will be running for board this month.

In terms of SK, he simply said that new structures are being put in place at the club and that we as supporters are going to have to be patient. The boys are working hard, but quite possibly because of the personnel we have, the Dragons game showed where we are at the moment.

He also expressed displeasure at the number of Parramatta Juniors at other clubs and said that this is an issue which is being addressed.

Again he reiterated how important we are as supporters and how much the team need us right now.

Also in terms of Reni, he will be back in Round 11. SK hopes he will play 3 rounds in Wenty and then come into top grade.

The floor was then open for questions - so for those of you who have been dying to ask SK a question, tonight was your chance.

I'll also do another little blog later about what the two gentleman running for board had to say - I don't know about the rest of you, but when I vote I want to make an informed decision.

Finally - I'd just encourage you all to think about joining PESC. I was welcomed so warmly tonight. All the members are absolutely delightful and it really has that community feel that I think so many of us crave. It doesn't seem to me that it is really being taken as seriously as it should - but I hope and think that with more members, this will change.

It gives us all the opportunity to be involved - and together, I think we can implement change from the bottom up. We as supporters need a voice, and PESC can be that voice. : )

The lovely President will also be able to fill you in more on what PESC actually does - but I just wanted to share with you all how delightful my experience was.

Any questions let me know and I'll try to answer them - or get Mr President to come and answer them!

Thanks all,

Tink x

  • Have always wanted to join Tinks but I always miss it by a day or 2. Is there some way we know when these are on so well at least I can attend and join
  • Col - absolutely.

I think that might be one thing PESC can work on - its own promotion. : )

I'll bump this blog again when the next meeting is on - from memory its Tuesday 14th June, but as I said, I'll definitely keep you posted so you can join us next time!

  • Nice one Tinks. Will say Gday next game. Saw you a couple times but couldnt get over to see you and say hello. But yeah for sure I wanna be at the next meeting.
    • Col! So sad you haven't come and said hello. Look forward to having a chat at the next home game. : )

I might even let you hold one of my signs!

    • There is definitely room for regional members Matt and PESC would be lucky to have you aboard!

I'll get Mr President to reply specifically to you so we can get you a membership form ASAP! : )

    • Matt,

Would love to have you onboard, I'll post you some details shortly.

  • Sweet.
I'll be there at the next meeting Tinks.

Will lock in the 14th June!

  • It's on every 2nd Tuesday of every month if I recall it costs $10.00 first year then 5 after that anyway tinks did u have fun tonight?
  • OK Tinks - what's the deal for the guys OUTSIDE Sydney - NSW - or even those overseas.

All well and good to promote things for "regional" fans but as the old questions goes

    What's in it for me?

Was just on League Unlimited when PESC announced the changes going on - was 01/ 2010 btw.

Forum like 1Eyed? - Don't think they could beat this site.

Not being negative but I can't see any advantage of wasting my hard earned on something that doesn't really give me something positive in return.

BTW - can anyone update me on 1Eyed shirts etc for 2011?
