Just to steal Mack’s thunder I’m going to use his line . “ I think you need to google the definition of Loophole “
Mate, I reckon you might be a bit confused - I think you're thinking of a LOOPHOLE. This situation is different in that it is a LOOP HOLE.
Look, the reality is that Jarryd believes he is worth 700k, not 500k. I've never met the man so I'm only guessing, but I sense that he wants to make sure that the club never takes him for granted, which is something I can appreciate.
Don't forget that he will have learnt from his time in the NFL that your salary is a measure of the respect that the club has for you, getting what you feel you are worth is the team recognising your value.
I don't necessarily agree with that type of thinking, but I understand it.

That would have to be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard . Not saying it’s untrue because I have zero idea if that’s their way of thinking or not , just think it’s totally ridiculous. On that criteria Hindmarsh should’ve been on 10 million a year and Tim Mannah should be paid more than Junior Paulo .
Why would Hayne think he should be respected anymore than the guys who are standing beside him ? Talent isn’t a measure of respect . Some of the games most talented players are total fuckwits . I know you’re saying you don’t necessarily agree with that line of thought , but isn’t that line of thought a pretty shitty approach to being part of a team ? You’re virtually saying the more he gets paid , the higher he places himself above his team mates .
Stop it Wiz your making to much sense
When I say respect, I’m referring to respect for his talent and what he brings to his team, not for Jarryd the person.
