Parra’s season goes from bad to worse
Eels coach Brad Arthur labelled his side’s performance as “embarrassing” after they were thrashed 30-4 by the Knights.
To make matters worse, Mitchell Moses (knee), Bevan French, Peni Terepo (both concussion) and Will Smith (hamstring) all suffered injuries, while Tepai Moeroa will miss at least three weeks out after being put on report for a shoulder charge.
Former rugby league hardman Mark Carroll believed a huge shake-up was needed in the Eels’ forwards if they’re any chance at registering a win.
“They are so small in their forwards, right through the ranks,” Carroll told Fox Sports.
“They’ve got nothing, they don’t bend the line and their poor halves are getting horrible ball.”
But Eels legend Peter Sterling questioned the club’s recruitment strategy with the big man signing a reported $2.8 million, four-year deal.
“I’ve got a concern,” Sterling told the Sunday Footy Show.
“I said they needed a bit front-rower, a class front-rower.
“I know Junior Paulo’s a very good player but I’m uncomfortable if they paid more money to bring him back than he got when he left, because I question whether he’s a better player now than when he was when he left.
“I’m not quite sure (he is), so I think recruitment is a concern.”

Interesting point by Sterlo. I automatically assumed Paulo would be a big improvement on our current pack but are we paying overs for him?

But is junior the Big signing thats is having second thoughts about going to his new club next season according to BUZ in last Sunday's SHOOSH colium in the tele
Woods will sign with the sharks
TBH Pepe, not only have we paid top dollar but we r committed to a 4 year deal. IMO we have got rocks in our head to commit to more than 3 years. Look at ole Fairy Floss Evans. We still have to put up with him or pay him out for another 2 years.
I think our fans r expecting too much in Jnr's return. We will give us 4 or 5 hit ups a game but IMO he is essentially lazy. We will need a lot more than just Jnr to fire the pack up.
Anyone it he article where Sterlo said Sandow was our greatest ever signing? Then Foran ?Chill Peter
All I can say is on “ beanies for brains “ day at school ( mark Hughes was coming) my ten year old REFUSED to wear his Parra beanie cos they are losers !!!:-((((
so here we are again peeps ....
sooo disappointing
Sterling although correct about Paulo really likes to contradict himself , he is the one who said BA was the best thing to happen to Parra .
Snorky's trotted out the ol' best thing to happen to Parra line a number of times over the last few years....I don't think he's been correct about any of them.
I get why his comments on Parra get reported, but his involvement with the club is minimal, and his ability to determine what's best for the club or the team has been woeful over the years. Frankly he would have a better strike rate if he just guessed, rather than thinking about his answers.
Sorry GW&F, Sterlo never said that about Sandow, from the time Sandow came to Parra Sterlo always said he wasnt the Halfback we needed.... I think u got it mixed up with his praise for Tim Smith... He did say Foran was one of our most important signings ever, but that's what we all thought before he showed his true colours.
