SHOULD SBW BE ALLOWED BACK INTO THE NRL BEFORE 2013 ?

Just reading in todays weekend papers about Jarryd Hayne speaking on the topic of allowing SBW back to the fold after his current contract with Toulon runs out.

I think there are a few issues here such as player payments, salary cap and defections that probably will influence my answer. My first thought is no way, he made his choice to walk out on the game back in 2007. But then does Jarryd have a point that he is a rare talent that we should allow back in ?

Is it really the players fault for abandoning the game to chase a larger purse ? Or is it the blame of the NRL administrators and this stupid salary cap.

Although SBW would be a good asset to have back in the NRL, I would leave the decision to the club he walked out on whether he is allowed back in prior to 2013.

I doubt the dogs will allow him to play elsewhere, but who knows, if their recruitment drive comes up empty they may get desperate and take him back themselves. Lol.; ▶ Reply to This

As much as I enjoyed seeing him leave the Dogs in the lurch, the bloke's a disloyal try hard. He reminds me a bit of Benji...the best in the game on their day, usually for a few weeks, then are injured or simply go missing. Tiges just signed Benji for life..bahahahaha. Permalink Reply by will swain on March 7, 2010 at 10:10pm: He is a good talanted player which the nrl need when competing with Afl and now the money of union and overseas clubs. i agree with billblogs about him and marshall, but i think if let him rejoin and see what happens i mean many other players have left i know circumstances may have been different but most still had a contract that they signed, i mean we had two in our team in lyon and T smith and they are both back playing in the nrl. I mean shouldnt we have been able to have a say in lyon and t smths contract as we were the club they left while having contracts. These days in sports ESPECIALLY in the nrl a contract is nothing, i mean when the player wants the money and that they love the contract but when they wana leave for more $$ or whatever a contract means nothing. But we have seen clubs when the player isnt playing up to their best terminating a contract and letting them go somewhere else, like finch and many others.; ▶ Reply to This

He walked out on his contract! No he didn't, he all but fled the country in the dead of the night like a thief. Whichever way you look at it he did the dirty; on the game, his club, his country and more importantly his fans. It is one thing wanting more money, but to chase that with no regard to the commitments you already have is a DOG act. Add to it the idiot he was listening to, very intelligent move!
