Serious question

You older blokes ever worry you’ll pass before you see another parra comp? I’m 22 and been a supporter since I was 7 because my old man is a parra man. He was 2 years older than me last time he saw us win, now he’s 56. Really puts that rabbits premiership in perspective.

  • Gucci, the way it's heading at the moment, it's guaranteed we won’t be seeing any top 8 finishes for at least the next 4 years as Arthur has failed in roster development and recruitment.

Parramatta are the Penrith of 2011 meaning it will be 2025 until we see success again.
  • Your first few years were pretty good then, then there was 2009, pretty shit since then, but us old blokes who remember the 80s have gone through a lot of crap sonce then.but it can't be much longer now .... can it?
    • Gave the game up in my teens when that Storm scandal broke. Imagine being 13-14 years old and having that happen

  • Apparently we are going to privatise so the only thing you will need to worry about is getting decent grand final tickets.
  • 22 ?

    Youre a baby mate, lol

  • 22 year old eh Gucci thongs? That explains quite a bit. I will be much more patient with you from now on young fella.

I'm a handsome, humble, virulent, fit and strong mentally and physically 65 year old, and I wouldn't have a clue about when we are going to win another premiership.

But in all seriousness, I will say this. Having a footy team to support is a blessing from my perspective, even if it has been Parramatta since 1964. While the serious stakes of life have nearly overcome me from time to time, Parra was the one constant which was always meandering in and out of those trials and tribulations of life. The hope that they might win next week was there when I woke up each Monday morning. The disappointment of the previous weeks put life into perspective. They didn't have to win to for me to enjoy the game, it just made it a whole lot better.

The realities of Life on the other hand was full of disappointments that cried out for a victory which was often less likely than Parra winning next week. And those wins in life had a much longer period of commitment to endure to get to that winning post. Following Parramatta taught me to savor the small identifiable victories that come in the fleeting moments of competition between men. As they often say today. "Win the little contests" Not winning all that many of the big contests following Parra made me more observant of those little contests 50 odd years ago.

We'll win another premiership Gucci, but try to enjoy the journey mate, you'll have less regrets in life.

      • Great speech right there . No wonder  im a survivor !!!

        a

    • Yeah honestly when we were winning last year I was just happy to see us win and wasn’t too disappointed about falling out of the finals. I like the week by week winning and seeing us higher on the ladder that’s what satisfies me.

    • Thats what you call a classic case of club induced Stockholm syndrome folks.

Rowdy unfortunately this clubs made your hopes and dreams so low that its conditioned you to think a few scraps is a win, its a very sad story, hopefully the younger generation can rightfully hope for more.

Youre like a bird whos happy to get thrown a few scraps every now and then lol, its ok to think you are worth more Rowdy..

      • Say that again.

He has had his memory wiped yearly by the sounds Snake.
