This is from the Courier Mail just before last year's Origin series after NSW again pointed out QLDers poach NSW players. They claimed NSW have selected a number of players who aren't actually Blues. They named Benny Elias, Willie Mason, Peter Sterling, Brad Clyde and Ian Roberts. I will now pull apart their argument. Benny Elias, while born in Lebanon, moved to Australia at a very young age and has played all of his rugby league in NSW. Peter Sterling, whilst born in Toowoomba, moved to NSW before playing any Rugby League in QLD. He played pretty much all his league in NSW apart from his stint in England. Willie Mason is listed as being born in New Zealand. Whilst this is true, he played all of his junior league in Newcastle before moving to Canterbury. Brad Clyde was born, raised and played junior footy in Canberra. In case QLDers didn't know, Canberra is in the middle of NSW and therefore he is eligible to play for NSW. Ian Roberts was born in England but played juniors for South Sydney. Greg Inglis, on the other hand, was born and bred in Kempsey. He played junior rugby league for the Bowraville Tigers and Newcastle Hunter. Inglis didn't play league in a QLD team until he was 18. Anyone notice the differences here?

According to QLD's your not a NSW player if you weren't born in NSW, but you are a QLD if you were born in NSW, but graded in QLD.
