  • NRL crisis club the Parramatta Eels are rapidly descending into civil war — with director Tanya Gadiel penning a sensational legal letter against a key agitator trying to overthrow the Eels board.

Ms Gadiel, the former MP for Parramatta, claims she has been denigrated by Eels fans as a “toxic cancer at the club” capable of only running a “caravan park mobile brothel”.

In a letter to beleaguered Parramatta chairman Steve Sharp, obtained by The Daily Telegraph, Ms Gadiel accuses Phil Sim, owner of popular Parramatta fan site 1Eyed Eel, of “vilification, harassment and damages to my reputation … directly intended to bring my position as a club director into disrepute”.

She demands disciplinary action, and reserves the right to pursue Mr Sim and Eels members council representative Matt Hollier in “civil (court) proceedings”.

Ms Gadiel penned the letter to beleaguered Parramatta chairman Steve Sharp.

Ms Gadiel says in the letter that 1Eyed Eel’s publication of a private Facebook Messenger conversation between herself and Mr Hollier a month ago attracted “vile statements by others on the feed” that had “created significant harm and distress to me as a female board director and person of good standing in the community”.

She claims the incendiary comments came from 1Eyed Eel contributors who responded to a blog by Mr Hollier.

Following the publication of the exchange on the site by Mr Hollier, under the pseudonym Muttman, Ms Gadiel called him “a disgrace”, and told him: “You have just defamed me via 1 eyed eels. I won’t be taking this lightly.”

    The exchange

Hollier: “I think you have bigger things to worry about than me Tanya. I haven’t defamed you or anyone. For the sake of the club, you all should graciously step aside now.”

Gadiel: “You have a lot to worry about mate.”

Hollier: “Don’t threaten me, Tanya. You’re not helping yourself.”

Ms Gadiel claims it was the public release of her private exchanges with Mr Hollier that led to her “vilification”.

Her legal letter comes weeks after Mr Hollier himself made an official complaint to the club about the same exchange with Ms Gadiel.

Calls to Ms Gadiel last night were not returned.

Mr Sim struck a conciliatory tone: “If she is upset by any of the posts, we’re happy to take them down.’’
    • She is like a toxic cancer, she just won't f@#$ off. Same with the rest of the board. Give the club a new clean start and get people in there that actually have a idea of what they are doing. Why do they have to be all frigging sore losers when they know there getting pushed out. There's a reason you are getting pushed and clear already you have no idea. Atleast 1eyed is getting some free advertisement.

  • What does Tanya expect fans to do in the worst year in the clubs history? sit back and cop it?

How many times have Fitzy and Spags been called toxic cancers to the club, and every other board member?, how many times have we said Dennis or spags looks like a pimp or morgue worker or should be running a club in the backstreets of doonside?, Tanya harden up and quit with the nonsense.

Tanya how about you just worry about getting the club out of the huge mess that you as a board member have helped us get into and stop wasting time with stuff like this, more wasted time and energies when you should be doing whats best for the club.

The fans were blessed that Mutt let them know how you felt about our leagues club CEO who has done a pretty good job of things by the looks of it.

    • Hey why bring Doonside into it????

  • Because it was the first suburb that popped into my head Col, no offence to the salt of the earth people from Doonie, I love Doonie.

    • It was Fongys comment about the forehead that started this. LOL
    • Lol why.. I grew up there I dont... lol Nah just kidding....

Why is she giving the letter to a bloke who (will be) deregistered???

I dont get what she is trying to achieve here??

  • LOL If you can't bring success to a club then what do you expect. Fitzgerald had far more credibility and history with the club and the fans went after him.
  • Caravan Park mobile brothel!! Hahahahahahahahahahahsha
  • I don't know why Tanya's digging her heels in. She has zero chance of being re-elected next year. She should just go now. Besides what has she along with the remainder of the board done to rebuild the club? They have just sat on their hands and blamed everyone around them for what has happened and refuse to accept accountability.
