Source: AAP"What I would like to ask on behalf of the Australian people, considering there has been a large majority of Australians wish to see the banning of the burka."Attorney General George Brandis slammed the One Nationer leader for "the stunt"."I would caution and counsel you with respect to be very, very careful of the offence you may do to the religious sensibilities of other Australians," he said."We have about 500,000 Australians in this country of the Islamic faith and the vast majority of them are law abiding good Australians. Senator Hanson, it is absolutely consistent with being a good, law-abiding Australian and being a strict adherent Muslim."Source: AAPPoliticians on the right applauded the Attorney General's comments, while the left remained silent. But Senator Penny Wong congratulated the Attorney General for condemning the One Nation leader." make this point on behalf of all of us on this side of the Chamber, it is one thing to wear religious dress as a sincere act of faith, there is another to wear it as a stunt here in the Chamber," she said.Greens leader Richard di Natale said the chamber had "seen the most disgraceful disrespectful shameful behaviour"."With a senator of this Parliament mocking a community of decent, hardworking, law-abiding citizens of this country there is no stronger example of why this Parliament needs a Parliamentary code of multicultural ethics than this," he said.

    • And how sick does it look in Australian Parliament?

Very sick, its a sickness, well done Pauline.

  • Good on her, excellent way to make a point, shes got courage Pauline even though shes not the smartest tool in the shed, good on her.

    • I agree.

Quality stuff - pity more politicians don't have the guts to represent the people who elect them.

    • Well she doesn't represent my views. But anyway at least on this site, why don't we stick to what unites us - the blue and gold!
    • Agree Snake. Unfortunately with Pauline, she is just smart enough to start the discussion but not smart enough to have the discussion. I just heard her on Ben Fordham and after listening to her I couldn't understand exactly what point she was trying to make today. She kept jumping back and forth from security to womens rights. But i hear that she cooks a maen fish.
  • How do we know it's really Pauline??
  • Thats it mate, shes got a shit load more guts and courage than most of the other plonkers in politics who are too afraid to rock the boat.
