Parramatta Eels Training Blog - 1st September

Watched a training session for the first time in a while today. I won't go into too many details at this time of the year, but I'll cover the main aspects.Team SpiritThis looked outstanding. The blokes look really close. The players have their own ways of warming up before training officially commences. Today I watched a group playing a football version of lawn bowls. They kick out a "jack" and then they all try to kick their football closest to the jack. They were having quite a bit of fun.Injured crewManu and Tepai participated in the official warm up but did not take part in the ball work. Manu did a bit of sprint work. Taka was there in his moon boot.Training focusLots of ball work today. Quite sharp. The Wenty players trained separately to the NRL team under the eye of Burt and Cook. There were no match ups between the groups. The NRL boys focussed on quick ball movement, using the width of the field.I'm looking forward to Sunday!

    • They were non stop. Looked exhausting but fun.
  • Thanks for the update 60's. I just hope our defence is better.Completions were ok, we need to defend a lot better; and kick well

    • We might plan on using the ball a bit more this week, asking a few more questions.
  • So Foran is an eel as of today week or next Tuesday?
    • 1st of November I believe is the start of the rugby league contract year.
    • I think that the players can be kept up till grandfinal day. From memory we have trained up till grand final week in past years.
    • 1st of November I think Foran is officiallly an Eel

  • Who took Manu and Moeroa's spots? Seeing as our other top 25 guys are injured?
    • They didn't train as a line up against Wenty. The team split into about two groups of 8 and did ball work against each other.
  • Kenny Edwards present? How is he looking?
