Parata

Is anybody currently watching the Italy vs Wales game.If so what are peoples thought on Parata. The Italian team doesn't have a lot in the halves so he is getting out and using his speed. Throwing some great balls and not afraid to make first contact I'm defence.

  • Everyone's been raving about Kaysa Pritchard as surely being our 14 off the bench next season. Boy oh boy Parata and Pritchard are gonna have 1 hell of a battle for that #14 bench spot. Deans dummy half runs were electric for Italy vs Wales.
I hope the injury he sustained in the last 10 minutes isn't a serious one so we can see him play in Italy's next 2 World Cup games.
Santi played strongly too. He tackled his heart out for around 45 mins and he doesn't always stand back waiting for runners to come to him, he likes to charge towards them and ambush them defensively. He puts pressure on them. He did his share of hit ups too. Also means he's not lazy. Doesn't bludge trying to have a breather, just keeps pushing himself. Kind of like Hindmarsh did when he turned into a defender.
  • He's not yet contracted anywhere
  • I hope Brad Arthur has 7mate!!! I think parata could be the dynamic hooker we need coming on in the last 10 minutes of a half.
  • I thought Mossop played really good. Dont forget hes playing against the best team in the world.
  • Lee Mossop's stats:

    40 minutes, 44m from 5 runs, 26 tackles, 1-on-1 tackle, 2 ineffective tackles & 3 penalties conceded.

    Dean Parata's stats:

    46m from 6 runs, 1 tackle break, 20 tackles, 1 missed tackle, 2 errors & 1 penalty conceded.

    Brenden Santi's stats:

    74m from 10 runs, 25 tackles, 5 1-on-1 tackles, 1 offload & 1 error.

    • Santi 5 1on1 tackles, impressive defense, exactly type of player to replace hindy.
  • I watched the whole game, and watched parata very closely, he is no where near Peats level.

He was decent with the ball in hand, very busy but nothing spectacular.

When he didnt have the ball in hand he was slow around the ruck, i think he has the ability to be a first grader in the future, but no where near the hype a few place on him, but certainly could make something of himself, but he really lacked the defence and speed of an MK around the ruck and thats saying something.

  • I thought mossop was good too jack.

  • Anyone who didn't see much in mossop, wasn't watching the game properly, as a central defender he goes above and beyond any player in his team, he followed the ball carrier all over the park and covered a lot of ground, I didn't think he was that affective offensively but that's because he was the main meter eater..
  • Agree Henry, i think he was great, he directed a lot of defence as well, he will fill a huge gap for us, im really looking forward to him getting on the park for us.

Twidle, Brown, Nanva, Pryke all debuted this season from our pathways. You don't really have anyone else you could debut."

"I actually agree with you, I thought Kelma really stodd up in the 2nd half and bent them back. I've said it a couple of times here, but I think we should move him into the middle as he's a massive and destructive unit. He's not mobile enough in this…"
