Ownership change unlikely to Stop Watmough

Ownership change unlikely to stop WatmoughA change of ownership at Manly is unlikely to prevent Anthony Watmough departing for Parramatta, with the Sea Eagles’ contingency plans well advanced with their pursuit of replacement Feleti Mateo. The former Parramatta Eels playmaker is contracted to the New Zealand Warriors until the end of 2016 but is keen for a return to Sydney. He has struggled to nail a starting spot in Auckland and the Warriors are likely to grant an early release to free up salary cap space.Unwanted Knight Willie Mason is also poised to join Manly as part of an overhaul of the forward pack.Mason won’t be the only forward shifting from Newcastle, with Zane Tetevano also signing on, pending an NRL clearance following off-field indiscretions. Cronulla’s Siosaia Vave will also help to fill the void left by the retirement of Jason King and the loss of Glenn Stewart and Daniel Harrison.Read more at SMH.com.au

  • and King retiring. Toovey has his work cut out for him, bwhahahahahaha.

Left with players like Horo, Mason, Mateo, Symonds, Buhrer, Starling, Lawrance bwahahahahahaha What a pack.

  • manly have a winning culture, they will find a way to win plus they have the best halves combo in the comp

    • Now you're talking Jelly.

Apparently they also place great emphasis on being a TEAM at Manly.

  • of course they won't stop Watmough the same with Stewert ,Penn ain't no moron he wil be under instruction and heavily influenced to keep their halves partners together being DCE and Foran!

meanwhile Watmough and Stewert should easily be able to demand a million plus from Parra a season considering they are paying their former teammate and WINGER 800k The Floppa family is laughing all the way to the bank, thanks parra!
  • Hope we don't get Stewart or watmough they will drain our salary cap. You are right eeldarado they will keep dce and foran. We seem to pay too much for players.
    • I hope we get foran but we dont want stewart no way

  • You don't think the addition of Stewart would make us a stronger team Paul?

    • Stewart is a great player, but he is so because he's got two great halves who can control the match and give him space. He's past 30 and his knees are shot. I think it's too much of a financial risk for us to buy him.
  • I disagree on Horo. He was always a talented back rower but he spent a lot of time in the centres and when he did play in the back row, he was too close to the middle.

EA replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Gutherson Blaizes a trail for Talagi
"Sanders was going to leave regardless of whether he played recently. Talagi IMO is always going to resign as he has been training at fullback all pre-season. It is not a decision they have made just now to keep him at the club. "

SuperEel 22 replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Gutherson Blaizes a trail for Talagi
"I don't see an issue with Brad bringing him off the bench and giving him NRL game time. Most fullbacks don't debut at fullback. They get slowly brought through either on the wing or off the bench.
He'll no doubt spend time at Cup level throughout…"

"No issues for mine.
What I do like is he's been given every opportunity and the balls in his court.
Nothing is given to him he has to earn it.I mean if he continues to be given the mentioned you just have to hope he pays it back."

Coryn Hughes replied to Parra_Greg's discussion Our New Middle Forwards ?
"That's why they are mentioning a guy like Mitch Barnett because of his workrate this is the body type the game is moving too in the middle.I suspect it's why Moretti is preferred over Grieg as a bench middle.
Look at Jason Taumololo the guy was a…"
