Great win over the weekend.

In his post-match presser, BA highlighted our past inability to back up a great win, particularly away from home.

He emphasised that we need to be up for games everywhere, not only at Parra Stadium.

Of course, this is not news.  We have had this issue for a while now, and no doubt it has already been addressed by BA and the team, with little success to date.

So why should we be optimistic this time around?

Should we prepare ourselves for disappointment at ANZ against the Tigers this week?

Unless we are a different team, recent history suggests we shouldn't get our hopes up too much.

Personally, I can't help myself.

GO THE EELS!!!

  • Even the fact its a home game with more Eels fans improves our chance at ANZ. It will be a gradual process. We will slowly start being more competitive away from home, then get a few wins. Build from there. Look at Brisbane beating NZ in NZ. Nothing fancy, just hold the ball, run hard and chase the kick. If we do that and lose, so be it, but finding a way to BE IN THE GAME is the first step we have not taken in four years. Consistently. Next week there should be 30,000 Eels fans making sure that happens.
    • I think the same game last year against the Tigers had 50,000 fans - gonna be a massive one again this year I reckon ;)

  • We will only become more successful away from home when we start to give the refs no reason to penalise us.

If we keep letting the refs blow that pea out of their whistle early we are destined to continue this losing trend.

    • Some Parra players would argue that on some occasions, they are not giving the refs a reason to penalise, but the refs do anyways.

Or that the opposition is not getting penalised for the same offence.

And they would have a point.

      We can't control this.

  • Spot on Frank

  • This weekend is going to be a very interesting game for myself. I have never watched a 1st grade game with a family member playing for the oppisition. I guess all I can do is say, good luck Kyle, I hope you play well, but go the mighty Eels.
  • Lol
  • I don't see the problem at least we are winning somewhere!
  • One win from 17 games at ANZ stadium, 5 wins to the Tigers from there past 6 games, 2 wins from their past 7 Monday night football. Going to be hard, but I hope they start turning these bad stats around!!

"No chance....
This club has shown me they have zero appetite for change.
Expect more of the same into 2025 unfortunately."
