Today, I've launched a new website - Orf Seezun. (Shameless thieving of Col's terminology).
The site is going to serve two purposes.
First and foremost, it's an opportunity for me to test out the latest version of the platform that 1Eyed runs on. As you all know, 1Eyed works pretty crap on mobiles and mobile traffic now accounts for more than desktop traffic to the site. The new version is much better for mobile, and it's also got a lot more flexibility and functionality. I intend to move to this platform at some point in the future but doing so and not losing all the archived content from the site is not easy at this point.
In the meantime, I'm using this site to test out this new platform. It shouldn't feel too different and I'm hoping it will simply any transition issues when I feel the time is right to make the move, and I have the spare time to do all the things required to make the switch.
Secondly, the biggest question I face as a site owner, is how much non-Parramatta and Rugby League content to include on the site. We've tried various ways to deal with this, including making use of the Group functionality but content that doesn't get promoted on the home page tends to die-off pretty quickly. Putting this content onto its own site lets me grab the content and display it more prominently on the 1Eyed home page. I'm going to try and tie them together as tightly as I can, while hopefully allowing those who are just here for the football to pretty much just focus on that aspect of the site.
I don't know if this will be a long-term thing or not, right now it's just an experiment. So don't freak out that this is going to fundamentally change 1Eyed - it should just provide those of you who wish to extend your relationship with this community to do so, without less moderation and interference in non-football blogs.
So I do encourage you to head over to the Orf Seezun and register and give it a try, even if it is just to give me some feedback on the platform. URL will be orfseezun.com - it is currently using a simple re-direct but I'll get that setup properly later today.

What are you looking for from app Stevo? Just easier access, notifications?
I can easily put an app wrapper around the mobile version of the website, if people deem that to be satisfactory. Otherwise, it's quite difficult to get things like comments out of the platform..
Phil. when will the mobile version be fixed. So that can see more then 4 replies. STILL so annoying
I'm fully aware of it. As I said, when we make this shift to the new platform, it is full responsive, so the site works really well on mobile and gives pretty similar experience to the desktop version. If you go to orfseezun.com on your mobile, you will see basically how it will render on your phone when we switch.
