  • Strong side. Won't be the cakewalk we all think that's for sure
    • Nah, we should smash them with that side Frank.

    • I don't think it is such a strong team as Manly are missing 4 starting 13 players - plus King, Watmough and Glen Stewart.  In essence Manly are missing 7 players from their strongest team last year.

Additionally, Symonds is not likely to play as he injured his left elbow in the last trial.  Lyon is 50/50 has he was also injured last trial.  If Symonds and Lyon don't play that means Manly would be missing 9 players from last year!!!!!!

Lawrence is coming of an operation and hasn't played a trial and would be underdone and Luke Burgess was fat, slow and very much underdone at Manly's last trial and Mason is 35 years of age.

If we don't win by at least two tries we may be in for a long season.

  • Love the confidence Mick.
To me its not a bad looking side. They have some young talent coming through. Will be a tough game if they are mentally there.
    • That is one of the weakest teams I have seen for Manly in a long time.

If we don't beat them, we will get smashed next time we play them.

Mason and Mateo in the starting side for Manly? Please.

      • Haha, don't forget Burgess

  • I'm not sure if he's off contract
  • Weak side IMO. Gutherson will be targeted a lot in defence, he played wing last year not centre. Front Row is decent, back row isn't. Mateo a bench player last year, Symonds is barely fit, Lui also a bench prop last year. Bench - JSL in #14 is decent, Leary/Hasson haven't played many first grade games, Horo started well at Manly but has dropped off. This is a MASSIVE chance for our pack to show what they're all about in 2015. Would much rather Choc/Moeroa and Ma'u as opposed to their back row. The thing about Manly is a lack of size, a lot of small forwards as opposed to our boys. If we match Mason and Lawrence early we will roll over their bench I reckon. Luke Burgess is the only player who brings some size on that bench. Go PARRA!

  • Gutherson is definitely a weak link. Has been playing fullback and wing the last 2 years and I have seen him play regularly. Besides his bad hair cut he isn't the best defender. He will struggle if we send a couple of our edge forwards his way. He is good with ball in hand but playing centre in NRL will be a challenge for him.
    • Yeah agreed. Hard to say which side of our attack will be stronger. Last year it was pretty much 50/50 both edges, maybe left side fractionally better. Hopefully Sandow and Hoppa can target him all night long
