Parramatta have three million reasons NOT to sack embattled coach Brad Arthur.
That’s how much Arthur’s contract is worth after he got upgraded for steering the Eels into top four last season.
Arthur was on $750,000 - but is now on a cool million a season for this year and the next two after his bonus kicked in.
There is no way Parramatta can afford to pay out $3 million - and then find more money to hire a new coach.
The heat is on Arthur, make no mistake, after the Eels’ disastrous 0-6 start to the year.
Their season is gone and all they can do is attempt to restore pride and build up for 2019.
I believe Arthur is safe - and that a player cleanout is far more likely as the Eels attempt to recover from their nightmare season.
Unbelievable amount of money. Looks like BA is here to stay.

Well I'm flabbergasted. We r even more stupid than I thought possible if we contracted BA for $1M per season.
He was a greenhorn FG coach when Sharp appointed him & we provided him with his FG apprenticeship on a reported $750k per season then extended his tenure for $1M per season. No wonder BA bleeds Blue n Gold!
What an incredible situation.
No he wasnt on 750k all along, he was only on that last year, he got a big pay rise after our year we were caught cheating, then he must have had a top 4 clause with a 25-30% increase for making it.
To be fair he deserved a pay rise and was being chased by other clubs.
Spot on snakes. Now he has some pressure on....and time will tell. Lurker can be somewhat exaggerated
Is he now on a $1M contract or is the report incorrect?
I told the lads in the cupboard the other day BA was on 800k and they scoffed at me claiming hes not on half of that, sorry i was wrong, his salaries gone up to 1m if this article can be believed
It’s a bit ridiculous .....
premature ejaculation by the club imo
:-(
Carlo, if I went back through the archives I'm sure I would have no trouble finding any number of comments from members here, many of whom are now calling for BA's head, for Max to tie up BA to a long term contract.
I distinctly remember Paul saying we should give BA a 10 year contract.
