Loyalty- Brad Arthur

A few days ago, I wrote a short blog about loyalty. Following all the reports about coach's being sacked or wanting out, I look at Parramatta's hard year on the field with fans, players and the coach's disappointment and the one thing that really stands out is what a great group we are. I am as dissapointed as the next person that we are not in a better position this year than we are, but look at the loyalty by Brad Arthur and the club. Watching all these other clubs knife these other coaches in the back and having coaches walk out, we truly are a special and loyal bunch. We are the best. Wouldn't it be great if we were all rewarded with a premiership, for our loyalty in times of hardship.

  • Got that right we are a ‘SPECIAL’ club that obviously loves a losing culture - other clubs look to make changes to try to find that magical potion, we stick to what’s failed and think something will change. We are the most reactive club I’ve ever seen others are proactive.

    • We can agree to disagree. Much rather be losing and hold my head up high than following Panthers and having my coach stabbed in the back.
      • I don’t know how old you are but you sound extremely naive. We aren’t running chook raffles mate, we are trying to win comps - in case you hadn’t noticed we haven’t since 86.

As for being stabbed in the back? The guy will be stabbed face to face after we fail again next year - don’t worry he knows it is coming.

  • If we don't change.. How can we expect things to change?
Whilst I understand people admiring the Eels sticking with BA - he is very very very lucky that we are a club in crisis in other areas. Put simply - the board probably just recognises that whilst the coaching is probably sub par, there are other things that require more urgent attention.
The Panthers on the other hand have everything sorted out so are sorting out the coaching.
    That's the only difference.
    • We have been changing for years Fathead.  I would say we have had more coaching changes than any other Club in the past 15 years.  Did those changes work for us?

  •  Your looking at things from the wrong end of the telescope. Turn it around so you see how things really are. In case your the only person who does not know, there is an inquiry going on which, among other things, will recommend which players will be cut----not much loyalty there? The chances of Arthur leaving the ship are nil, not because he is loyal but because no other club would want him and because he is getting near a million a year at the Eels--He would get chump change at another club..

  • shame about the negativity, but each to his/ her own.
  • After the 2016 season, Brad Arthur gets the Eels into the 2017 season top 4 and playing in the Semis against Storm @ Storms home ground and if it wasn't for the NRL cheats we would have come away with a spectacular victory. We were clearly the better team and with two weeks rest we would have played the Broncos in Sydney and beaten them to get into the Grand Final against Storm in Sydney with a huge shot at winning the great prize of them all.

Brad Arthur is not that bad a coach.

Having taken so many NRL blows since 2016 I get it that morale and confidence amongst the 2017 squad could have been very flat after the Storm semi thinking (in the back of their heads) we'll we can't beat the NRL controlled Refs no matter how well we play so what is the point of trying to win. Fuck it. And that's how they played against the Cowboys. Something to think about.

And I'm not saying that's what happened but I've assisted multi hundreds of professional people dealing with psychological issues that had been sending their lives back into the doldrums of despair, weakness and hopelessness. It happens to the best of us and I would not be surprised that something deep in the psyche of our squad transpired after that game was stolen from them (I say pure corruption).

  • Yes Rocky great bunch, so loyal. Lol
